Columbus, Ga., May 29—Where
abouts of Chauncey C. Burritt, for
mer City hospital administrator,
were a mystery last night, after
Gov. Ellis Arnall’s secretary had ad
vised Attorneys Robert M. Arnold
and Ernest C. Britton by long dis
tance telephone of receipt of re
quisition papers from Monroe
County (Rochester) N. Y., seeking
Burritt’s return there on a warrant
charging forgery and grand larceny.
After Burritt had been acquit
ted by a Muscogee Superior court
jury the night of May 17 of 37
counts of embezzlement of hospi- I
tal funds, he gained his release'
from county jail May 19 when ar- |
ranged before Judge T. L. Bow- |

habeas corpus. Original papers
sent to Columbus from Rochester {
had been made out for Edward

JBuritt was ordered released from 1
custody pf Sheriff Ernest F. |
Howell.
Papers requesting extradition of
Mr Burritt Irom Georgia to New
York have been received by Gover
nor Arnall from the governor of
New York. Daniel J. O’Mara, dis
trict attorney in Monroe county,
has contended that. Edward Pulsi
fer and C. C. Burritt are one and
the same man.
Mr. Arnold and Mr. Britton, coun
sel for Murritt during his trial and
subsequent hearing on a writ of
habeas corpus that brought the
former hospital administrator’s re
lease, stated Tuesday night they
did not know' Mr. Burritt’s (where
abouts. The attorneys were to have
represented Mr. Burritt June 7 at
10 a. m., at a hearing on the ex
tradition. When they attempted to
contact Mr. Burritt at the home of
a friend with whom he has been
living for several weeks, they said
they were informed that Mr. Bur
ritt had left the city and that his
whereabouts were unknown.
ivir. Arnolds and Mr. Britton
stated that Mr. Burritt had vio-
raieu no law in leaving the city
without announcing his destina
tion. They added, however, that
they hau advised Governor Arnall’s
secretary, that they were with
drawing from the case and that,
insofar as they were concerned, re
quest for hearing was canceled.
Neither, tney declared, will they
make any effort to locate the for
mer hospital official.

Bakers Ordered to Cut
Size of Bread Loaves
By Agricultural Dept.
Washington, May 27—The Agri
culture Department tonight ordered
U. S. Bakers to cut the size of bread
loaves and rolls 10 per cent by
weight, effective June 1. The order
is designed to enable this country
to continue its heavy wheat and
flour exports to famine areas over-
seas and to stretch out short, do- i
mestic bread supplies. The action
was taken through an amendment
to the war powers act. ,
The department did not say what |
effect it will have on bread prices, ]
if any. I
Prices presumably will remain
the same, however, since OPA an
nounced previously that bakers ,
making such reductions voluntari- !
ly would not have to cut prices. I
The new loaves must be 10 per j
cent smaller by weight than bread 1
and rolls oroduced by the samel
baker on March 15, 1946.
Most bakers who did not reduce I
sizes when they recently were re- 1
quested to do so voluntarily, said
they were afraid of violating con
flicting state laws requiring broad
to be of certain weights. Officials
believed the new federal order
will supersede state law.
The department said bakers who
do not believe they can carry out
the order, may appeal to the pro
duction and marketing adminis
tration by June 10. If the admin- :
istration believes the baker can |
comply, he must make the cut. 1

Some lesser gift would have shown
her love, and this rich gift could
have been used for the poor!
Thus reasons the cool, calculat

The Lord honored her gift, and ac

he would soon be gone.

(Psalms 73:26,27).
Among the citations which com

following from the Bible: “There

one that maketh his son or his
daughter to pass through the fire,

The Lesson-Sermon also includes
the following passage from the
Christian Science textbook,“Science
