Henry Earl Wainwright celebrated
their birthdays August 4th at
the home of their grandmother,
Mrs. Mary Moore.
Clarence was 10 years of age
Aug. 4th, while Henry Earl was
7 Aug. 3rd.
They enjoyed a delightful
birthday dinner at the noon hour.

The honorees received many
many gifts. Mrs. M. B. Edwards of
Macon, aunt of the lads, sent

their respective ages.

—Cpl. Maurice J. Whitley of Mauk
is now serving with the famous
First Cavalry Division in the pres
ent occupation of the Nippon Cap
ital.
Overseas since Aug. 7, 1945, he
is serving with the 61st Held of
Artillery, as a Gunner. Formerly
he served with the 77th Infantry.
He wears the Asiatic-Pacific Rib
bon, Good Conduct Medal, Victory
kibDon, and tne Occupation Rib
bon for Japan.
As a civilian, Whitley was a
farmer. He entered the Army Jan.
11, 1945, and received basic train
ing at Camp Walters, Tex. After
discharge, he plans to return as
a farmer.
His mother, Mrs. W. O- Whitley,
resides at Mauk and his wife and
family reside at Mauk.
