STATE OF GEORGIA, COUNTY OF TAYLOR: Pursuant to the resolution of the General Assembly of Georgia, approved the 25th day of Febru ary, 1949, known as a resolution “authorizing and directing that a referendum be submitted to the voters of Georgia on the question of approval or disapproval of ad ditional State financial support for education, rural highways, public health, public welfare services, aid to counties and for other purposes; for the approval or disapproval of the levy of additional taxes for the support of such services”, a special election is hereby called to be held on Tuesday, the 5th day of April, 1949, at the Taylor County court house in the City of Butler, said State and county and at each es tablished election precinct in said County outside of said City. At such special election there shall be submitted to the voters of the County who are qualified to vote for members of the General Assembly as of February 1, 1949, the question of whether or not ad ditional taxes shall be levied by action of the General Assembly for the purpose of furnishing ad ditional financial support for edu cation, rural highways, public health, public welfare services, aid to counties and for other purposes. Such election shall be held ac cording to the rules and regula tions governing elections for mem bers of the General Assembly. Those voting in this election shall have printed on their ballots the following words: "Vote For One ( ) "I favor financing the con tingent appropriations made by the General Assembly for public health, education, end to counties, rural highways, public welfare services and for other purposes, and I re quest that the General As sembly levy such additional taxes as are necessary to provide the funds. ( ) "I oppose financing the con tingent appropriations made by the General Assembly for public health, education, aid to counties, rural highways, public welfare services and for other purposes, and I request that the General As sembly do not levy addition al taxes to provide the funds.” For receiving ballots in said election on said date, the polls will be opened at the hour of f:00 o’clock A. CITATION FOR DISMISSION Dr. Paul Quillian, Noted Minister, Dies in Texas Atlanta, March 29—Dr. Paul Quillian, 52, formerly of Atlanta, pastor of the First Methodist church in Houston, Texas, for 12 years, died Monday at his home in Houston of a heart attack. A native Georgian, Dr. Quillian was a graduate of. Emory Univer sity and received his doctor of di vinity degree from Southern Meth odist University in Dallas. He was I the son of the late Dr. J. w. Guil- l lian, who for many years was a minister of the North Georgia Methodist conference. Dr. Quillian resigned his pasto rate in Houston about a month ago.
