The entire community was
grieved to learn that Mrs. T. D.
Seay Sr., had succumbed at an
early morning hour Friday in the
Macon hospital where she had
been a patient for several weeks.

Mrs. Winnie Breazeale spent Sat

Miss Clyde Brewer was the week
end guest of Mrs. White in Vien
na.
Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Sawyer, Miss
Aurelia, and Cecil and Tom spent
Sunday with home folks at County
Line near Lumpkin.
Mr. and Mrs. Erickson have re
turned to their home in Washing
ton, D. C., after having been called
here because of the illness and
subsequent death of Mrs. Erick
son's mother, Mrs. T. D. Seay, Sr.
Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Ricks are
constant visitors at the bedside of
their son, Charles, a patient in the
Middle Georgia in Macon.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W r . Waters spent
Sunday with relatives in Montezu
ma.
Rev. and Mrs. W\ B. Hoats were
in Macon Monday, going over to
meet Mrs. Hoats’ brother who will
be their visitor for some time.
To anyone who has not as yet
contributed to the Cancer Fund,
please don’t fail to see someone on
the committee or, Mrs. Willis
Saunders, County Commander by
June 1st, the deadline for the
fund raising campaign.
Mrs. Hicks Trussell and daugh
ter, Carolyn, shopped in Macon
Tuesday.
Friends of little Harry Hicks are
pleased to learn that he is improv-
.ng nicely after a tonsilectomy at
the Montezuma hospital last week.
Friends of Mr. Charles Ricks will
be gratified to learn that he is re
cuperating from a very serious
operation at Middle Georgia hos
pital, Macon, and sincerely hope he
will soon be home and well on his
way to a complete recovery.

Mr. Don Whatley of Georgia
University visited his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. J. E. Whatley for the
week end.
Mr. Tom Gregory, student at G.
S. C., Americus, has been confined
to his home here with pleurisy for
several days.

Licenses in Reynolds June 2
Reynolds friends of Mr. and Mrs.
Patrolmen will be at D. W.
Payne’s office in Reynolds Thurs
day, June 2nd, at 7:30 p. m. for
the purpose of issuing drivers, li
censes to veterans of all wars.
Earl Wright are delighted that
they will again make their home
here after having resided in Co
lumbus for several years.
Mr. J. L. Adams of Miami, Fla.,
is spending the summer with rela
tives here and in other sections of
Georgia. W’hile in this city he is
visiting his sister, Mrs. Clem
Waters.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Royeton ac
companied by Mr. and Mrs. Lamar
Griffin of Americus, attended the
Third District American Legion
and Auxiliary Convention in Cor-
dele last Sunday.

able to be out again after a

Powersville are spending several
days with their sister, Mrs. Clem
Waters and family.
Rev. D. G. Mann, District Super
intendent of the Macon Methodist
District, conducted the Fourth
Quarterly Conference at Reynolds
Methodist church Thursday evening
May 19 for the Reynolds-Crowell
charge of which Rev. D. A. Last
inger is pastor.

Next Sunday morning Rev. David
A Lastinger will preach the bacca
laureate sermon at the Reynolds
Methodist church. Special music
under the direction of Mrs J. A.
Pendergrast, will be a special fea
ture of this occasion.
Monday evening has been set
aside tor a play bearing the title,
“The Charm School.” The. play is
being given to help clear indebted
ness on our new curtain. The cast

I Atlanta.—The State of Georgia
has approved the allocation of
i £510,065 for the construction of
' three new hospitals will cost a
j total of $1,701,719 in State, Federal
and local funds under terms of the
j Hill-Burton Act.
j This brings total State funds ap-
i proved for hospital construction to
! date under the Hill-Burton pro-
i gram to $1,073,791. This amount
I vvill be matched with $1,130,965 in
j Federal funds and $1,138,139 in lo-
[ cal money for a total of $3,392,897
I for approximately a dozen projects
throughout the State.
Largest of the three latest proj
ects to be approved is a $1,221,521
construction program for the Ma
rietta Hospital Authority. The
State will furnish $350,000 for the
Marietta hospital, the Federal Gov
ernment $407,173, and the Marietta
Authority, $464,347.
State Auditor B. E. Thrasher, Jr.,
said the other two hospitals ap
proved yesterday included a $284-
981 project for Sylvester and Worth
County, and a $195,216 DeKalb
County project for Decatur State,
