Members of the Methodist church
will welcome their new pastor, Rev.
Charles Hillis, this week. He will
arrive Thursday with his wife and

Mr. and Mrs. Horace Head and

guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence
Cook for the week end.
College students arriving home
this week are: Skippy Ogburn,
Robert Swearingn, Sally Hollis,
Babs Bond and Jean Crook.
Mrs. ,J. W. .Waters and Miss
Bertha Baaemore of Flint Electric
will leave Sunday to attend a
school in Atlanta for a week..

Ga. Tech last week. He will leave

The Methodist church completed
a successful Bible School Friday
with commencement exercises in
the afternoon. This week the Bap
tist Bible School is in progress with
a record attendance.

Annual Ceremony and
Awards Several Degrees
The Reynolds FHA Chapter ob
served its annual ceremony on
June 4.
There were 10 Junior Degrees
and three Chpater Degrees awarded.
Those receiving Junior degrees in
cluded: Delores Powell, Donnie
Posey, Margaret Willis, Lynn Rus
sell Shirley Gordon, Lillian Bee-
land, Jean O’Neal, Terry Montgom
ery Irene Hobbs and Mable Wain-
wright. The three homemakers ot
receive Chapter Degrees were Bar
bara Lane, Jackie Cummings and
Janice Whatley.
Mrs. Marie White, Chapter, ad
visor recognized Geneva Cum
mings,, Teresa Cummings and
Tempie Hill as the girls who re
ceived State Degrees. These degrees
were awarded at the State Conven
tion in Atlanta last April.
Mr. E. H. Joiner was made an
honorary' member of the Reynolds
Chapter. This was our way of
showing Mr. Joiner how much we
have appreciated his kindness and
cooperation throughout the years.
Betty Childree who was a 1956
graduate of RHS, was made an
associate member of the Chapter.
This is the first time that this
honor has been bestowed on any
one by the Reynolds Chapter.
Geneva Cummings, Chapter
President, conducted the ceremony.

Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Hancock of
Lizella announce the engagement
of their daughter, Barbara Ann, to
Russell S. Montgomery of Reynolds.
Miss Hancock is an honor grad
uate of the Crawford County High
School and has attended Asbury
College, Willmore, Ky., for two
years.
Mr. Montgomery, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Montgomery of Rey
nolds is a graduate of Reynolds Hi
School. He is in business with his
father and uncle.
The couple’s marriage is planned
for 5 p. m., Saturday, June 23, at
Crowell Methodist Church.
