Elizabeth, N. J. — A probation
report told the story of a 17 year
old youth who quit high school to
lead the life of an international

After 10 months on a $100 a day
spree, the boy was turned in to au
thorities by his mother, the report
said. The mother’s $13,000 savings
had been spent as well as $15,000
loaned the boy by his uncle to pay
gambling debts.

HEART GIVES OUT
Panama City. Fla. — A Georgia
salesman fell dead into the arms
of a friend after fighting an under
tow in the Gulf of Mexico near
Panama City.
Investigators said James Carlton
Carter. 59. of Millen. Ga.. appar
ently died of a heart attack
brought on by his fight against the
strong underwater pull.
Carter had checked into a motel
near Panama City an hour earlier.
He was swimming with a friend
visiting from Chattanooga, Tenn.

of federal gambling stamps for
the 1958-59 fiscal year was noted
by Internal Revenue officials when
their records showed that 73 Geor

year compared to last year’s 88
