District Judge William A. Bootle
has under advisement a suit alleg

white children because they are
residents of a religious community.
Judge Bootle concluded a -hearing
Wednesday with an order for
early submission of proposed find
ings of fact and law and suggested
decrees and briefs in the case a-
gainst the Americus School Board
and Americus High School.
The suit was brought on behalf
of Jan Jordan, 13, William Witt-
Kamper, 15, and Ruth Browne, 13,
who are children of members of
Koinonia community, a religious
settlement near Americus, which
professes to be living a Christian
communial life following literally
the teachings of Christ.
Defense lawyer C. Baxter Jones
told the court that the students
were excluded from Americus High
School because it was feared their I
presence might generate disorder.
Jones said he felt that t-he commu
nity resents Koinonia for a num
ber of reasons, not solely because
of religious beliefs.
