James L. Farr, 30, was returning from a visit in a nearby town when he saw smok6 boiling from a breezeway that connected a cross roads store and a trailer the store’s owners used as a home. Farr told’ firemen that just as he pulled up to the store the breeze way blazed up. He said he jumped from his car and broke into the trailer by smashing his fist through a window in the door. He pulled Mrs. Hughie White out of the trailer and shouted to awak en the other occupants, her hus band and two sons, John 16, and Jack, 23. / Both the trailer and the breeze way were destroyed, but Athens firemen saved the brick store.
