For Medical Prog.
Atlanta, Ga. — The doctors of
Georgia laud Gov. Vandiver’s new
$7 million medical care for the
aged program. Medical Association
of Ga. President Dr. Simonton of
jChickamauga, in an open letter to
the governor said, “As Governor,
you have met the challenge of
medical care for the aged and
have again served all the people
of the great state.”

{the Governor reported that a plan
, for medical assistance for the aged
{would become effective next Jan
uary, whereby 100,00 senior citi
zens on assistance rolls would be
assured hospital and skilled nurs
ing home care.
“Our Association,” Dr. Simonton
said, “comprised of 3,000 doctors of
medicine pledges cooperation with
your medical assistance to the
aged program.” Dr. Simonton said
"We wish to assure you that we
join with you in this program to
provide medical care for Georgia’s
needy citizens.”
Praising the Governor for this
forward step in meeting the health
care needs of Georgians, Dr. Simon
ton commended Vandiver and his
administration for their decisive ac
tion in implementing this program
which was enacted by the General
Assembly only a few months ago.
Speaking for the Medical Asso
ciation Dr. Simonton endorsed the
Governor’s announcement of the
activation of this $7,200,000 medi
cal care for the aged program
which will provide care for those
who need care.

Jury Clears Winder

Winder, Ga. — A coroner’s jury
