15th Anniversary

anniversary next Sunday. The cele
bration begins at 3 p. m. in the

ing message. Mr. Johnny Davis,
who was recently licensed as a
minister by the local Baptist church
will bring the message at the eve
ning hour. All members and friends
of the church are urged to attend
each of Sunday’s services.
Mr. James Lail who suffered a
brain hemorrhage shortly after the
recent holiday season, underwent
surgery last Thursday at the Au
gusta hospital. Mr. Lail is listed
on the critical list. Mrs. Lail who
is attending the bedside of her
husband was given a donation con
tributed by a few of her Butler
friends. Anyone desiring to make
an offering for Mr. Lail during this
time of great need may do so by
contacting Mrs. Gene Bone of this
city.

The Weatherhead Co., world’s
largest producer of liquified petro
leum gas cylinders, will establish a
new manufacturing plant in Cedar-
town, A. J. Weatherhead, Jr., presi
dent, announces.
Weatherhead said the new plant (
will be the company’s eighth and |
most significant manufacturing I
(unit. The organization is headquar
tered in Cleveland, Ohio.
The firm, to be housed in a 50,-
[000 square foot structure now un
der construction, represents a capi
tal investment of more than $1
million. Approximately 100 persons
will be employed. Scheduled open
ing date is for May of this year.
Announcement of the new plant
was made at a special dinner meet
ing of the Cedartown Development
Corp., which spearheaded the move
ment for bringing the internation
ally known organization to the Polk
county city. The plant is being
constructed on a 40-acre site at the
old Cedartown air port area. The de
velopment corporation has turned
the 150-acre airport tract in West
Cedartown into an industrial park,
and the Weatherhead organization
is the first plant to announce lo
cating there.
