Mrs. Weaver Crawford, Frank Crawford and Miss Jackie Allen of Hawkimsville, were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. N. Breazeale and Miss Eva B. Griffith. Mrs. Emory Seay and Mrs. Vir gil Powell visited Miss Elda Black mon at the Macon hospital Friday. Friends of Miss Blackmon wish for her a speedy recovery. Mr. R. E. Aultmam is a patient at the Phoebe Putney hospital in Albany. The numerous friends of Mr. Aultman wish for him an early and complete recovery. Mrs. Nell Wainwright, Mrs. Wal ter Turner, Mrs. A. J. Robinson, Mr. Charles Dennis of Columbus, visit ed Mr. and Mrs. Willie Montgomery and family Saturday night. Mrs.Dan Fountain and Mrs. Susie Wooods spent Sunday in Albany Mr. Fountain returned home with them, having spent several weeks in the Phoebe-Putney hospital. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. McCown, Alice Walter and Tim McCown of Co lumbus were Saturday night supper i guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Brea zeale and Miss Eva B. Griffith. Mrs. R. L. Swearingen, Mrs. C.E. Whatley, Mrs. Ed Swearimgen, Mrs. S. J. Tankersley and Mrs. Ola Hicks attended the U. D. C. District Convention at theNew Perry Hotel. Mrs. F. M. Carson, Mrs. Willie Rick, Mrs. Ed Swearingen and Mrs. Ola Hicks were Saturday vis itors of Mrs. Sam Harp amd Mrs. Miss Marie Mathews at Oglethorpe. Mr. and Mrs. Clopers Montgomery Mr. Clyde and Webster Montgom ery of Reynolds; Miss Pat and Jun ior Montgomery, of Macon, visited Mr. amd Mrs. Willie Montgomery and children Saturday. Mr. amd Mrs. W. F. Brunson left Sunday for LaFayette, Indiana to visit Mrs. Brunson’s aunt, Miss Blanche Miller. Enroute the Brun sons will visit their daughter, Miss Annis Brunson, a student at Asbury College, Wilmore, Ky. Reynolds WSCS Met Monday p.m. at 'Mrs. Crook’s Home Mrs. L. W. Cook and Mrs. John Mims were hostesses to the Antho- ny-Barrow Circle of the Reynolds WSCS for the February meeting Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Cook. Following song, “Jesus Calls Us’’ Mrs. Virgil Culpepper led in the opening prayer. | Mrs. H. W. Breazeale, Circle leader gave the thoughts for today on “Love and Service.” Reports were heard on the visit from Bishop John O. Smith and the Service of Dedication of the new Parsonage on Feb. 7th. I Plans were discussed concerning the visit to our church by Rev. and Mrs. David Walker, Missionaries from the Belgian Congo, who are to be with us next Sunday at both the morning and evening worship hours. This visit was to have been Jam. 28th but had to be postponed. We are expecting them Sunday. Mrs. John Mims announced that Dr. Tucker of Weslean College would be here to conduct a study on Methodist Beliefs, beginning with two sessions om Sunday, March 4th 5 to 6:30 p. m. and 7:30 to 9 p. m. Also two sessions on March 11th, ( 5 to 6:30 p. m. and 7:30 to 9 p. m. A good attendance is expected. All young people are especially invit ed to attend. Mrs. M. W. Flanders, District and Local Secretary of Specials, report ed on her work amd stressed the importance of giving more member ships, particularly among the children and young people. She told also about her trip to Epworth-by-the-Sea, and attending Winter Camp Meeting last week. The program dealt with the mis sion of the Church of Christ im Latin America.. After meditation and prayer by Mrs. C. S. Sawyer Mrs. Flanders spoke on the needs 1 of the People’s and Churches in the 20 countries of Latin America, and of what and how we may help— by being willing and ready to do God’s work in prayer and generous giving. —Cricle Reporter Over $6 Million in Highway Contracts Let February 16 Congo Missionaries Coming to Reynolds Church Sunday Dates for Renewing Driver’s Licenses In 1959 the Reynolds Methodist hurch assumed the small portion nf support (that had noe been sup plied) of the Walker family, as missionaries in the Belgian Congo. They were in the Congo area until forced to leave on accoumt of the uprising after Independence Day in 1960. They have since been 3erving in Rodesia, however, at present they are on furlough in Georgia. They plan an all-day vis it in the Reynolds church Sunday at both the morning and the even ing services. Slides of their work wil be shown at the night service. These services should be of in terest to everyone and old and young are cordially invited to at- ted both services. The Reynolds church membership assure everyone a cordial welcome at both the morning and evening worship Sunday, as well as wel coming the public to each Lord’s Day service. (2,8) UN. 2-4975 Atlanta, Ga. — A total apparent low bid of $6,149,174 was received by the Highway Department Friday on 34 more contracts for new road work in 36 Georgia c ounties. I Coupled with a total apparent low bid of $10,615,380 received Feb. 15th on 49 contracts under the Highway Authority bond program this raises the apparent total on road work let to commercial con tract during the month to almost $17 million. Friday's letting consisted of one Interstate, one Federal-aid Urban, six Federal-aid Secondary, and 26 State-aid contracts. The interstate contract provides for construction of seven single highway bridges and four double bridge stream crossings along a section of Interstate Route 85 in Franklin county. An apparent low bid of $863,543 was submitted on this contract by Wainer Construc tion Co. of Valdosta. I The urban contract covers 3.62 miles of grading and paving on Slappey Drive and South Slappey Drive in Albany, between Newton Road. An apparent low bid of $1,- 208,830 was submitted by Oxford Construction Co. of Albany. Insurance Firm 'Talmadge Heads I Plans Merger !
