Miss Kathryne Spivey’s engage
ment to Capt. James II. Herman,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Her
man, Broklyn, N. Y., is announced
by her mother Mrs. Mercer Smith
of this city. The wedding will take
place April 28th in San Antonio,
Texas.
The bride-elect is a graduate of
the Macon Hospital School of
Nursing. At present, she is making
her home in San Antonio, Texas,
where she is associated with the
U. S. Air Force Hospital, Lackland.
Mr. Herman graduated from Le-
High University, Bethlehem, Penna.
with a bachelor degree in electrical
engineering. Having received the
masters degree from U.S.A.F. In
stitute of Technology, he is pres-
enty assigned to Security Service,
Kelly AFB, Texas.

Mr. and Mrs. Aden J. Wainwright
announce the engagement of their
youngest daughter, Gloria, to Mil-
ton L. Lowe, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Laney Lowe. The wedding will
take place at 2 p. m. Friday (to
morrow).
Miss Wainwright is a senior at
Butler High School where she has
been active in Tri-Hi-Y, F. B. L. A.
F. H. A. and 4-H Clubs. She is em
ployed at the local hospital.
Mr. Lowe attended Warner Rob
ins High school and is employed in
a Thomaston manufacturing plant.

announce the birth of a daughter,
Cynthia Jean, at the Medical Cen
ter, Columbus, March lfith. Both
mother and daughter are reported
doing nicely. Paternal grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Bazemore of
Butler and maternal grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Reid of
Junction City.
Sgt. and Mrs. Thos. LaJudice of
Tocoma, Wash., announce the birth
of a daughter March 19th to be
called Rebecca Ann. Mrs. LaJudice
is the former Betty Weldon.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Black-
ston are making their home at
Warner Robins since their mar
riage which was solemnized on
the evening of March 16th
Mrs. Blackston is the former
Miss Shirley Wynelle Wainwright,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. F.
O’Kelly. A 1961 graduate of Butler
High school, she was a member of
Tri-Hi-Y, F. B. L. A., F. H. A. and
"The Bear Tracks’’ staff.
Mr. Blackston, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon L. Blackston, gradu
ated from the local school. He was
active in FFA, Hi-Y and the Stu
dent Council. He is now employed
at Robins Air Force Base.

bride of Marcus Bradley Pitts, Ftb.
3rd, 4 p. m. in the Central Baptist
Church, Panama City, Fla. with

double ring ceremony. The bride is
the daughter of Mrs. Reginald Ra-

Crary, formerly of Butler. She as a
granddaughter of Mrs. Grady Rog

Mrs. Peggy McCrary, sister-in-
law of the bride, served as matron

tendant. She wore a street length
dress of aqua satin featuring a fit
ted bodice and bell shaped skirt.
She wore a matching headpiece and
carried a nosegay of pink carna
tions.
Eugene Pitts, father of the groom
was best man and ushers were
Ronnie and Bobby Pitts, the
groom’s brothers.
The bride, given in marriage by
her brother, L. J. McCrary, was
lovely in a floor length wedding
gown of Chantilly lace and net
over taffeta. The bodice featured a
Sabrina neckline embroidered with
seed pearls and sequins and lonf
The Cross-Roads II-D Club met in
regular session March 1st at the
Club House. The high note of in
terest at this meeting was selling
tickets and placing signs of the
quartet singing which was very
well attended and enjoyed by all.
We are looking forward to having
these singers again on April 17th.
Also, at the meeting, we had the
book-mobile representative who
gave informative outlines of its
benefits. Interesting Slides were
shown by the gardening chairman,
in the absence of the agent, on soil
treatment and insect control.
The group was served delicious
filled crackers, cookies and punch
by the hostesses. Mrs. B. F. Kirk-
sey and Mrs Wilbur Green.

McCrary in Cedar Grove, Panama
City.
After a wedding trip the couple
will be at home in Callaway,
Panama City.
