Guy, Cheryl and Larry of Butler, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Culverhouse. Betsy Wainwright, five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Wainwright, will undergo surgery on both eyes (tomorrow) Friday at the Middle Georgia hospital Ma con. Betsy’s mother is an efficient employe on the nurses’ staff at the local hospital and numerous friends of the Wainwright family join in wishing for little Betsy a successful operation and an early recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Jule Blair and fami- of Macon and Mrs. Essie Blair of Butler have returned after a few days visit with Rev. and Mrs. L. C. i Knight, Derek and Damon at Elton. \ La. Mrs. Knight is the former Miss j Neva Nell Blair of this city. The, group toured Lake Charles, the [ capitol in Baten Rouge and New Orleans. Rev. Knight is pastor of the First Baptist church, Elton, La. Miss Angharad Carmichael Jimmy and Randy Carmichael of Richland were Sunday guests °f the local Baptist church. Edwards II of Butler and Mr. Henry Harrison Kyle of Atlanta, took place March 21st at the Ju dicial Building State Capitol, At lanta with Judge Joseph Quilliam preforming the ceremony in the presence of a group of close friends land relatives. Mrs. Kyle has been employed in the State Capitol as secretary for the past two years. I Mr. Kyle is an attorney at law and business executive with firms | in Atlanta, Dallas, Tex., and Kan sas City, Kans. i Mr. and Mrs. Kyle will make their home in Dallas, Tex. These tests give indications of scholastic ability and high school achieve ments compared with other Juniors throughout the nation. Last week the Student Council spon sored Teacher Appreciation Week. One of the features of the week was a coffee break for the teachers dur ing recess period. The student body elected Mr. Dan Windham as their favorite teacher. This week the Student Council is sponsoring Twirp Week — meaning :“The Woman is requested to pay.” On April 10th, 2 p. m. there will be Popular Science Exhibition put on by the Southeastern Assemblies. (Mrs. Verna Griggs) Mr. and Mrs. Milton L. Lowe are aking their home in this city, ley were married March 23rd with ;v. W. R. Lawhorn officiating. Mrs. Lowe is the former Miss loria Faye Wainwright, daughter Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Wainwright. le is a senior at the local High :hool where she has been active i Tri-Hi-Y, FHA and FBLA. She ill graduate in June. The groom attended Warner Rob- nigs High school and is employed in Thomaston. The speaker will be an nounced later. Work on the tennis court is mak ing progress and should be com pleted by the end of this week. There has been considerable ex penses involved and anyone wish ing to make a contribution may do So by sending to the Butler High School office. Now that I am at home recuperat ing from a recent automobile acci dent I wish to express my thanks to all my many friends the doctors and nurses at Sams-Whatley hos pital, Reynolds. I am also grateful for all the cards, flowers and pray ers on my behalf. I would like to express a special thanks to whoever picked me up and carried me to the hospital.
