Vandiver announces. In a mid-summer report to the governor, State Parks Director C. A. Collier indicated the superintend ents at all 35 parks have advised him that increased attendance would probably amount to a 10 per cent gain over 1961. Comer also reported a number of improvements have been made during the past winter to provide for this influx of visitors. New or expanded tent and trailer camping area were developed in 16 state Parks. Thirty -four picnic shelters wore erected, 340 concrete and 150 wooden picnic tables were built and strategically placed by park super intendents in 23 parks. A swimming pool with a filtration system and bath house were completed at the A. H. Stephens Park. Swimming pol facilities were also improved at the cooked River and Laura S. Walker State Parks. Wrecks Kill Two; Fire Takes 2 Lives Atlanta, Ga. — Two persons were killed collisions, an elderly woman was burned to death, and a youth was killed by a tractor in Georgia Monday. The State Patrol said 2-year-old James Haynes of Cleveland was killed in a head on collision on U. S. Highway near Gainesville. The patrol said the car being driven by the child’s mother collided with a pickup truck. Four other persons were injured. The aptrol said a two-car collision near Eastman killed James Beeland 20, of Eastman. Police said Jimmy McKenzie, 17, of Ft. Valley, was injured fatally when he was run over by a tractor on a private road in Crawford coun ty peach orchard. An elderly Hawkinsville woman perished when flames destroyed her farm shack. The victim was identified as Mrs. Nannie Bell H. Waldrop, between 65 and 70 years of age.
