Morgan county * s voting on prohibi¬
tion to-day, and both sides ale claiming
the victory. At 12 o’clock the election
was progressing quietly at Rutledge and
Madison. The Star will gvie result the

The surveying corps of the Covington
and Macon railroad are is engaged in
searching for a good crossing over the Al
cova river, and we learn will probably
make it at a point between White’s fac¬
tory and Barnes’ Shoals. We hope to be
able to give the exact location in our next
issue.
City Ordinance.
Resolved by the Mayor and City
Council of Covington :
That the Marshal be, and is hereby
instructed to impound .-til calves run¬
ning at large in the streets and al¬
leys, or on the public square of said
city alter the lOib day of May, 1886,
for which he shall receive the im*»
pfunding fees prescribed in the case
of cows impounded. And that the
provisoes of the ordinance in refer*
ence to impounding cows apply to
this resolution.
