A Care for Toothache.
It is not at all uncommon to have tooth
ache with perfectly sound teeth, or in

cause I
would simply recommend a very conven

readily hand. prepare yourself and keep on
— Take a piece of chamois skin, or
of fine, closely woven flannel, and soak
it thoroughly in a good extract of Jamaica
ginger, or what is better still, in tincture
of capsicum, which you can obtain from
any druggist. Let this dry, and put it
away until the time of need. To use it
in the case of the toothache I have men
tioned, with a pair of scissors cut a small
piece off and place it between the gum
and the lip, directly over the root of the
offending tooth. This will act as a coun
ter irritant, and its effect is really mar
velous.—Laury World. McHenry in New York

Weakness.
1 here is no symptom of ill health more dis

self. Life to such seems languid and insipid,
and the invalid almost becomes reconciled to

Try a bottle of Dr. Bull’s Sarsaparilla. It will
greatly assist your recovery. Soon will you
then experience a feeling of new life and re
turning power. No longer will the least ex

palpitate unnaturally. No more will that

A quick and easy method for deter
mining whether or not a fabric is “all
wool” ia given in the London Lancet.
This is to separate the warp from the
woof and to hold each to a flame. Wool
burns into a shapeless mass and no
threads can be traced in its ash. If re

contrary, continues to burn steadily, and
its ash retains the shape of the thread.

The first spectacles, which were very

spread late in the fourteenth century to
