THE SURVIVORS’ MEETING.
It was Better Attended and More Inter
esting than for Several Past.
The meeting of the Survivors’ Asso
ciation on Tuesday last was better at
tended and more interest in" than any
that has been held for twelve months
past. About half the membership of
deep the body were present, the proceedings, and all took a
interest in which
consisted of short talks from different
veterans.
The fact was brought out that many
members of the Association are in at
rears with dues. The Secretary
instructed to earnestly request all who
are behind to call on the treasurer, Or
dinary J. J. Bacon, and pay up.
Steps were taken to make future
meetings more interesting. It is hoped
to have pleasant reminiscences of the
late war brought out by talks or papers
read by various old soldiers.
The association has not been called
upon to do many deeds of charity in
aiding needy veterans and their fami
lies, but it stands ready to do them
whenever they are necessary.
which makes its meetings soldier very pleas
ant socially. Every old in the
county should become a member and
strive to attend its meeting will regularly.
The next Tuesday regular meeting be on
the first in May next.
