That our readers may see for them'
selves the situation of affairs in
Loui^ianf, we publish, in few words,
the new political movement in New
Orleans. The resolutions are too long
for our space, and, therefore, we give
the substances of them. In the first
place, they dedicate themselves to the
unification of the people. By the peo
ple, they mean all men of whatever
race, color or religion ; that they will
advocate the right of all citizens of
Liuisiana to travel on perfect equality,
to visit all places of public amusement,
to attend churches, to associate and
mingle together on equality, and to
ntteud the same schools. They also
recommend that the proprietors of
founderiesand all other industrial estab
lishments, in employing hands, make
no difference or distinction l>otween the
two races. The idea is, that whites,
mulatos and negroes shall all visit,
cat, drink and be merry together. It
is hard to believe that the resolutions
express the sentiments of the people of
this once brave, gallant and noble
•State, but now down trodden and op.
pressed by Grant, Kellogg and their
rascally adherents. The resolutions
were concocted by weak-kneed Demo
crats, thieving scalawags, roguish car
pet-baggers and ignorant negroes. We
deeply sympathize with the true citi-
zeua of the State. How men, who stood
nobly by the Southern flag in he*
darkest hour, can lend them names to
such obxoxious and insulting resolu
tions, is, we confess, beyond our com
prehension. If they were at heart hon
rat and true to the Southern cause,
they are certainly traitors to the party
they are now acting with. What

of grief.
