directors of the Georgia Peanut Grow

Albany Monday, June 25, the follow
ing officers were elected:
President —Colonel R. E. L. Spence,
Albany.

Camilla.
Second Vice-President —W. J. Oli

Executive Committee —Colonel R.
E. L. Spence, Mr. J. P. Mcßee, Mr.

of Cordele, and G. R. Lundy, of Syl

Officers of the temporary organi
zation read reports showing that ..he
Association had been perfefcted at a
very low expense. Several authori
ties on co-operative marketing have
declared that the Peanut Association
was formed at the lowest organiza
tion expense of any big co-operative
marketing organization yet formed.
A charter was applied for, the
form being agreed on after a draft
made by Aaron Sapiro was read. A
set of by-laws was adopted and other
steps taken in the way of permanent
organization. The first Wedneday in
each month was agreed on as the
regular meeting date for the board.
A run-over election is being held
in the Sixth district— composed of
Thomas, Brooks, Cook and Colquitt
counties —this week between C. M.
Massey of Barwick and L. J. Me-
Phaul, of Doerun. Mr. Massey who
led the ticket but did not receive a
majority in the first election, is serv
ing as temporary director.
The Peanut Association now has a
sign-up of nearly 90,000 acres, about
68,000 acres of which are in the
original territory and about 21,000
acres in Middle Georgia and other
sections of South Georgia that were
not included in the oriignal territory.
It is expected that 100,000 acres will
be under contract in the state by
harvest time.

ENCAMPMENT TO BE
HELD AT BLUFFTON
(By S. B. King.)
If the announcement should be
made: “SIOO in cash to every Bap
tist who will take in the Encamp
ment,” would YOU be there? Well,
there is far more than a hundred
dollars in real benefit and blessing
awaiting those who will enjoy the
fellowship and enter into the study
and get the inspiration from the
great addresses at Bluffton next Mon
day through Friday, July 9-13.
Have you seen a complete pro
gram? Copies were sent to your S.
S. Superintendent. Read it. Every
true S. S. Teacher will surely want
to better himself by taking one or
two of the splendid Training Courses
offered. Every W. M. S. member
will surely want to do some Mission
Study under such competent teach
ers. Every “B. Y. P. Useful” will
surely want to “study to show him
self approved unto God.” Every
church member will want to become
more efficient. Take these courses,
hear these addresses. Get in the
Spirit of the Morning and Twilight
Devotions. Enjoy the fellowship of
the Associations. Bless your body in
the relaxations and recreations. All
‘without money and without price.'
See the program for particulars.
We would emphasize the four great
meetings for the mornings. On Tues
day morning, 10 to 12, there is to be
a great rally on Woman’s Work. MTs.
Miller, the Associational Superintend
ent, has prepared a great program.
Every W. M. S. and the auxiliary
organizations should be well repre
sented. Wednesday morning comes
the Evangelistic Conference. Dr. B.
S. Railey, Atlanta, will be in
■ charge, and the pastors and leaders
in all our churches will discuss the
task that is ours in leading the lost
to the Lord. This is very important,
and other things should be dropped
that we might have this Conference.
On Thursday comes the Sunday
School Convention. Every Sunday
fully organized, new districts will
be laid out in that part of the state
and a director will be elected from
each of the districts.
