Mrs. Lee Strong, a former
Early Countian, was recently
elected president of the Bien
ville Chapter, American Busi
ness Woman's Association in Mo=
bile, Alabama.
Mrs. Strong will be remem=
bered as the former Miss Mary
Lee Darden.
Martha Nash Sparks and chil=
dren, Moses, Sharon, Susan,
Ermie, Nancy and Tony, Denver,
Colorado, visited in the home of
her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. R, Ls
Nash recently.
Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Nash
and daughter, Melissa, Blue
Ridge, Ga., and Cpl. George W,
Nash, was in Blakely recently
visiting Mrs. and Mrs. R L
Nash. Also, visiting the Nash
family were Mr, and Mrs. H. J.
Stegall and Nell Stegall and chil~
dren, Ann and Thomas. Mrs.
H J. Stegall is a sister of Mr.
Nash.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Houston
and daughters, Lynn and Harriett,
have returned home to San
Marino, Calif., after spending
several weeks with Mrs. Hous=
ton's mother, Mrs. H. L. Bell,
and Mr. Houston's brothers,
Woodrow and Emory Houstonand
sister, Mrs. J. T. Jordan.
Mrs. R. E. Mills, son, Steve
and niece, Carole, have returned
to their homes in Atlanta after
spending several days in Early
County with relatives.
Mrs. Mills visited her aunt
and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. F. B,
Melton and Steve and Carole
visited their grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. R. E. Mills.
Mr. and Mrs. John Pritchett
and family and Mike White of
Albany spent the week-end in
Blakely, visiting their parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Alma White.
Mrs. Jack Lynn of Charleston,
S. C. and Mrs. Frank Smith of
Columbia, S. C. spent several
days with their parents, the Ralph
Hobbs' and the R. B. Durham'’s
here during the week-end Carl
Hobhs, Mrs. Lynn's brother, re=
turned to Charleston with her for
a visit and will return home via
Atlanta to see several Braves-
Phillies games next week
Mr. and Mrs John Reid Sto=
vall of Columbus, Ga., were
guests of their parents the
Carroll Rogers and the H. H,
Davenport’s Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs Fred Rushing
and daughters, Kathy and Sharon
of Birmingham, Ala., were guests
in the home of Mrs Rushing's
brother and family, Mr. and Mrs
Cary Logan on Saturday and Sun
day. ;
Mrs. Billy Bryant and chil~
dren of Atlanta, spent several
days recently with Mr. and Mrs.
E.” A. Tiner. Mr. Bryant came
down and spent the week-end.

Delaware, at Callaway Gardens
the past week-end. The Cottons
and Mrs. Grubbs toured the Gar=
dens during the week-end with
Mrs. Grubbs returning to Blakely
after a short visit in Milledge~
ville, Ga.

spent the week-end with his

Celebrates 60th Anniversary

The Rev. and Mrs. P. Z. Smith celebrated their 60th Wedding
Anniversary Monday, August 12. They have lived in Blalfely
since 1935, moving here from Cedar Springs where they lived
two years, formerly living in Slocomb, Alabama. :
They have four children, Mrs. J. G Temples, Miss Loudine
Smith and Ralph Smith, allof Blakely, and Zac Smith of Pensacola,
Florida. :
The Reverend Mr. Smith organized and built the First Assembly
of God Church in Blakely, which he pastored until his retirement
a few vyears ago. He is 78 years old and Mrs. Smith is 7.5.
A large host of friends called and visited the Smiths on this
special occasion.
