We Salute
Marine Cpl. James C. Hollinger, son
of Florene J. Hollinger of Blakely,
Ga., recently participated in exercise
‘‘Rubber Ducky-82” in the Arizona
desert.
He is a member of 2nd Light Anti-
Aircraft Missile Battalion, Marine
Corps Air Station, Yuma, Ariz.
The exercise is designed to test an
inflatable decoy "Hawk" anti-aircraft
missile system. Electric heater
panels provide the inflatable system
with an infared heat image that is
received by aerial reconnaissance
units. Exercise results will determine
whether the set can "fool” aerial
reconnaissance image interpreters in
to striking it instead of the actual
“Hawk" sites located within the same
area.

Mavis Campbell
It’s with mixed emotions that I
leave Arlington House Restaurant
after one year of being open. It’s clos
ing and I don't have a job, but God will
take care of me. I believe He always
has. But in spite of all of this there is a
lot of sadness in this world. I sat in the
waiting room of the new Medical
Center in Columbus last week as a 17
year old girl was pronounced dead
after falling off the hood of a car
where she was riding. Also a 29 year
old mother pronounced dead after
surgery. It broke my heart. I caught
myself praying, as I went to the car,
for their families' And thanking God
for all the blessings that I have receiv
ed in life.
My prayers are with my parents in
Atlanta this week at Crawford Long
Hospital, as my step-father (Mr. Allen
Rogers) under goes surgery after
having a heart attack about two mon
ths ago, to replace a valve. I thank
already, so many people who have
been so concerned, especially Mr. and
Mrs. Horace Killebrew, in all they
have done. And others, please pray
for us!
Mr. E.L. and Faye Lewis are
visiting in Savannah, Ga. a few days.

Congratulations to one of our
newest citizens of Damascus, the little
son of Mr. and Mrs. Ricky Clark. He
weighed 7 lbs. and 7 ozs. I believe, and
his name is Brad. I know a little girl in
that family who is proud of that little
brother, too!
