Miss JoAnn Malsberger and Mr.
Kevin Eric Renfro were united in Ho
ly Matrimony on Saturday, November
20,1082 at 5 o’clock in the afternoon in
the First United Methodist Church,
Blakely, Georgia. The Rev. Steve
Rayburn of Quitman, Georgia per
formed the ceremony. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry
James Malsberger, Jr., of Blakely.
The bridegroom is the son of Dr. &
Mrs. Thomas G. Renfro of Quitman.
The vows were spoken before an
alter beautifully surrounded by a
multitude of lighted tapers in brass
eandlcabras and jade foliage trees.
Mrs, John Moseley, Jr. played the
wedding music. As the bride paused
on the threshold of the isle on the arm
of her father, the groom sang “Love
Story” to her, accompanied at the
piano by his brother, Mark Renfro.
After the wedding vows were spoken,
the bride and groom knelt at the alter
and the groom sang the "Lord's
Brayer".
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a gown of Candlelight
Chiffon. Alecon lace of a re
embroidered style accentuated by
seed pearls was used to form the open
Queen Anne neckline. A soft chiffon
skirt with a hand rolled hem fell to the
floor. Bishop styled sleeves featured
the loose sleeve with a fitted cuff trim
ed in lace and an applique of lace. A
soft full skirt fell from the waistline to
form a chapel length train. As a head
piece. the bride chose a candlelight
matilia of sheer illusion trimmed in
re-embroidered lace. She wore her
mother's diamond necklace and car
ried her grandmother's antique lace
handkerchief and wore a blue garter.
The bride carried a cascade of red
and white roses with baby’s breath

Mrs. Woodrow Brooks was her
sister's matron of honor and Miss
Jane Ann Delxiach was maid of
honor. Serving as bridesmaids were
Miss Cindy Griffin and Mrs. William
Ducati. Ilesite Malsberger, niece of
the bride, served as junior
bridesmaid. They wore matching
dresses of matte jersey skirts and
georgette bodices. The bodices were
tucked candlelight with three quarter
length lace trimmed sleeves. The
neckline featured delicate Victorian
collars. The skirts were mallard col
ored with satin ribbon sashes. Their
hair was beautifully arrayed with
sprays of baby's breath They carried
red roses.
The bridegroom’s father served as
his son’s best man. Mark Renfro of
Quitman, brother of the groom; Steve
Malsberger of Atlanta and Tim
Malsberger of Blakely, brothers of the
bride; and Woodrow Brooks of Bar
rinton, Illinois, brother-in-law of the
bride served as usher groomsmen.
Mrs. James Moseley directed the
wedding.
Reception
Following the ceremony, the bride’s
parents entertained at a reception in
the social hall of the church. Assisting
in serving were Katrina Grant, San
dra Roberts, Camille Powell, Lynn
Billings, Vicki Cole, Beth Hilliard and
Debbie Pendleton. Little Miss Amy
Hightower distributed satin rose buds
filled with bird seed to guests.
Buffet Dinner
Following the reception, the bride's
parents entertained out-of-town
guests and family with a buffet dinner
at their home.

Mrs. Clyde A. White of Blakely an
nounce the engagement of her
daughter, Alexia, to Jerry Griffin, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Jones Griffin
of Dothan.
Miss White is the daughter of the
late Mr. Clyde Alexander White. She
is also the granddaughter of Mrs.
Alma Mcl^more and the late Mr.
Duncan Mcl^emore of Columbus, and
Parties
On October 27, 1982 Miss JoAnn
Malsberger was entertained with a
miscellaneous shower at The Town &
Country Club. Hostesses were Mrs.
Vai Hightower, Mrs. Robert Brownlee
and Mrs. Joe Glass. Approximately 35
guests attended. The hostesses
presented Miss Malsberger a pewter
platter.
Miss Malsberger and her fiancee,
Mr Renfro, were entertained by Mrs.
Dot Holman and her son, Jay, and Mr
and Mrs. Billy Roland of Colquitt, at
the home of Mrs. Holman on
November 12th. Approximately 150
guests enjoyed a cook-out. The couple
was presented a food processer by the
hosts and hostesses.
Mrs. Gloria Delxiach, Miss Jane
Ann Delxiach and Mrs. Ed Morton
entertained with a luncheon for the
bride elect, bridesmaids, relatives
and out-of-town guests, at Mrs.
DeLoach's home on McDowell
Avenue. The bride elect presented
gifts to her bridesmaids. The
hostesses gifted Miss Malsberger with
a Cookbook.

Donalsonville.
Miss White is a graduate of Early
County High School and is currently
attending Troy State University in
Dothan. She is employed by TG&Y of
Blakely.
Grandparents of the future
bridegroom are Mrs. Vera Griffin and
the late W.B. Griffin, Sr. of Dothan
and the late Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Cain of
Enterprise.
Mr, Griffin is a graduate of Em
manuel Christian School in Dothan
and is presently attending Baptist Bi
ble Institute in Graceville, Fla., ma
joring in church music. He is minister
of music at Ebenezer Baptist Church
and is employed by K-Mart in Dothan.
The wedding is planned for Jan. 15,
at 8 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church
in Blakely. All friends and relatives
are invited to attend.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Boyd, of
Leary- were entertained on their silver
wedding anniversary by her mother,
Mrs. John Jordan of Columbus. The
seated dinner for a few close friends
and realatives was given at Lloyds in
Albany on Tuesday evening,
November 30th. Settings were mark
ed by attractive floral place cards and
individual nut cups bearing favors of
wedding rings topped by miniature
white doves.
The centerpiece was of white carna
tions and white mums interspersed
with baby's breath and greenery. This
arrangement was flanked by twin
crystal candleholders with lighted
tapers. Green butter mints, and an an
niversary cake beautifully embossed
with ’Happy 25th Anniversary”, com
plemented the decor of the table.
Once the guests were seated, Mrs.
Jordan, the hostess, proposed a toast
to the celebrating couple, and other
toasts were made to them throughout
the evening. A special number, a
favorite, was dedicated to the
honorees by the band to which they
danced.
After dinner, Mr. and Mrs. Boyd cut
the Ist slice of the anniversary cake,
and then the guests were given in
dividual servings.

Mrs. Boyd wore a white silvered
two-piece belted evening gown, and
an orchid corsage.
The couple were married in a
church wedding in Pittsburg, Penn
sylvania at the Mount Lebanan Bap
tist Church on November 30, 1957.
They have two daughters. Miss Mar
tha Boyd, of Marietta, and Miss
Marybeth Boyd, a senior student at
Troy State University, Troy,
Alabama.
Locals
Mr. and Mrs. Durwood Evans spent
Thanksgiving in Fayetteville, N.C.
with Mrs. Evans' sister and husband
Mr. and Mrs. Tim Holiday. They left
here on Wednesday 11/24/82, and
returned to Blakely- on 11/27/82. They
had a safe and wonderful trip.
Mr. Roger Evans of Idebel, Okla.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Durwood Evans,
came home and spent the week before
Thanksgiving with his mom and dad
and all his family. His wife Paula and
daughter Talisa were unable to come
with him, but sent their love to all.
