Politeness.—This is the cheapest com

quality that is recognized and appreciated

Ghosts ! Hobgoblins ! SriBixs!—It will
be seen that we give qfiite a lengthy
count of the great sensatioB now in vogue
among the ghosts, etc., at Surrency, No. 6,
Macon and Brunswick Railroad. But it
seems that even Bainbridge is infested with
them. We observed a r mafl, a >few dayi
since, who- was laboring under tuv attack o
the Spirits. He had lost all control of him
self, and had a “hot brick” in his hat, which
he was at a loss to acconnt for. Owing to
his spiritual condition he was unable to bal
ance' himself correctly, and fell to the ground
several times w ithout apparent cause. Du
ring this time two quart bottles jumped from
his pockets to the pavement. The next
morning it is said that the man was perfect
ly oblivious to his wrestle with the Spirits,
but was very thirsty.

but are a true Medicine, made from the native root*
and herbs of California, free from all Alcoholic Stimulants.
They are the Great Blood Purifier and a Life-Giving
Principle, a Perfect Renovator and Invigorator of tha
Syatem, carrying off all poisonous matter and restoring
th* blood to a healthy condition, enriching it, refreshing
and invigorating both mind and body. They are easy
of administration, prompt in their action, certain in them
results, safe and reliable in all forms of disease
Ho Person can take these Bitter* accord
ing to directions, and remain long unwell, provide*!
their bones are not destroyed by mineral poison or other
means, and the vital organs wasted beyond the point
of repair.

8 the Mouth, Bilious Attacks, Palpitation of the
eart. Inflammation of the Lungs, Pain in the regions of
the Kidneys, and a hundred other painful symptom*,
are the oflsprings of Dyspepsia. In these complaints
it has no equal, and one bottle will prove a better guar*
antee of its merits than a lengthy advertisement.
For Female Complaints, in young or ol^‘
married or single, at tlie dawn of womanhood, or tho
turn of life, these Tonic Bitters display so decided an
influence that a marked imptovement is soon percept
tible. 4
For Inflammatory and Chronic Rhea*
mat Ism and Gout, Dyspepsia or Indigestion, Bilious.
Remittent and Intermittent Fevers, Diseases of the
Blood, Liver, Kidneys and Bladder, these Bitters haro
been most successful. Such Diseases are caused by
Vitiated Blood, which is generally produced by derange
ment of the Digestive Organs.
Thar are a Gentle Purgative as well aw
a Tonic, possessing also tlie peculiar merit of acting
as a powerful agent in relieving Congestion or Inflam
mation of the Liver and Visceral Organs, and in Bilioue
Diseases.
For Skin Diseases, Eruptions, Tetter, Salt*
Rheum, Blotches, Spots, Pimples, Pustules, Boils, Car
buncles, Ring-worms, Scald-Head, Sore Eyes, Ery
sipelas, Itch, Scurfs, Discolorations of the Skiu, Humor®
and Diseases of the Skin, of whatever name or nature*
are literally dug up and carried out of the system in a
short time by the use of these Bitters. One bottle in
such cases will convince the most incredulous of theiv
curative effects. j
Cleanse the Vitiated Blood whenever yo•*
find its impurities bursting through the skin in Pimples,
Eruptions, or Sores; cleanse it when yon find it ob
structed and sluggish in the veins; cleanse it when it ie
foul; your feelings wil! tell you when. Keep the blood
pure, and the health of the system will follow.
Gratefhl thousands proclaim Vinegar Bit- 1
tees the most wonderful Invigonmt that ever sustained
the sinking system.
Pin, Tape, and other Worms, lurking la’
the system of so many thousands, are effectually de
stroyed and removed. Saj’s a distinguished physiol
ogist: There is scarcely an individual upon the face of the
earth whose body is exempt from the presence of worms.
It is not upon the healthy elements of the body that
worms exist, but upon the diseased humors and slimy
deposits that breed these living monsters of disease.
No system of Medicine, no vermifuges, no anthelmin-
itics, will free the system from worms like these Bit

great rivers throughout the United States, especially
those of the Mississippi, Oliio, Missouri, Illinois, Ten
nessee, Cumberland, Arkansas, Red, Colorado; Brazo%,
Rio Grande, Pearl, Alabama, Mobile, Savannah, Roan
oke, James, and many others, with their vast tributa
ries, throughout our entire country during the Summer
and Autumn, and remarkably so during seasons at
unusual heat and dryness, are invariably accompanied
by extensive derangements of the stomach and liver, and
other abdominal viscera. There are always more or learn
obstructions of the liver, a weakness and irritable statw
of the stomach, and great torpor of the bowels, being
dogged up with vitiated accumulations. In their treat
ment, a purgative, exerting a powerful influence npoa
these various organs, is essentially necessary. There is
no cathartic for the purpose equal to Dr. J. Walker’s
Vinegar Bitters, as they will speedily remove tk»
dark-colored viscid matter with which tne bowels arw
loaded, at the same time stimulating the secretions of
the liver, and generally restoring tlie healthy function®
of the digestive organs. ,

Ulcers, Erysipelas, Swelled Neck, Goiter, Scrofulous
Inflammations, Indolent Inflammations, Mercurial Af
fections, Old Sores, Eruptions of the Skin, Sore Eyes*
etc., etc. In these, as m all other constitutional Dis
eases, Walker’s Vinegar Bitters have shewn theip
great curative powers in tha most obstinate and intract
able case®
Dr. Walker’s California Vinegar Bittern
act on all these cases in a similar manner. By purifying
the Bldbd they remove the cause, and byresolving away
the effects of the inflammation (the tubercular deposits)
the affected parts receive health, and a permanent euro
is effected. „ *
The properties of Dr. Walker’s Vinegar
Bitters are Aperient. Diaphoretic and Carminative,
Nutritious, Laxative, Diuretic, Sedative, Counter-Irri
tant, Sudorific, Alterative, and Anti-Bilious.
The Aperient and mild Laxative properties of
Dr. Walker’s Vinegar Bitters are the beet Safe
guard in all cases of eruptions and malignant fevers
their balsamic, healing, and soothing properties protect
the fmmora of the fences. Their Sedative properties
allay pain in the nervous system, stomach, and bowels,
either from inflammation, wind, colic, cramps, ete.
Their Counter-Irritant influence extends throughout
the system. Their Diuretic properties act on the Kid
neys, correcting and regulating tlie flow of urine. Their
And-Bilious properties stimulate the liver, in the secre
tion of bile, and its discharges through the biliary ducts,
and are superior to all remedial agents, for the cure of
Bilious Fever, Fever and Ague, etc.
Fortify tlae body against disease by puri
fying all its fluids with Vinegar Bitters. No epi
demic can take hold of a system thus forearmed. The
liver, the stomach, the bowels, the kidneys, and the
nerves are rendered disease-proof by this great invig-
orant.
Directions.—Take of the Bitters on ping to bed
at night from a half to one and one-half wme-glassfulL
