The AMa** Cektkai. City.—The
proprietors of this journal Wre reduced
its size from thirty-two to twenty-eight
columns; and we notice considerable
improvement in its typography. The
Central City is edited with mueh taste
and ability by Rev, Willis M. Russell,
anti his accomplished son. A. M. C.
Russell.
Babbit & Warfield, invite the public to
come and inspect their stock of Dry Goods,
Groceries, &e. See advertisement.
For Sale.—The presses and material
of the old “Bainbridge Argus” printing
office are offered for sal^by the proprie
tor, Willis M. Russell, of Albany. The
editor of the Democrat will take great
pleasure Ml showing the material do
those who wish to purchase, as it re
mains in his office in Bainbridge. A
rare chance for a bargain is offered.
Emeky Johnson!—‘-That dear nice man
Emery Johns** !“ is the exclamation of all
the ladies: because lie sells such splendid
cooking stoves and sewing machines. Emery
has a large stock of tinware, house furnish
ing goods, etc.
Personal.—Rev. Mr. Clemen;
pastor of the M. E. Church, for the
present year, preached his introductory
sermoh last Sabljat.h. We hope he m^

Tho legal advertisements of Decatur

Ehrlich’s Grocery Emporium is full of every
thing needed for the table—such as bacon,
flour, lard, onions, cabbage, beets, potatoes,
cheese, butter, etc, etc. A fine lot of foreign
and domestic wines and liquors. Beef every
morning at his market.
Read.—Wb call special attention to
the fact that James Watt has a fine
stock of hardware, woodenware, rope,
and fine table and pocket cutlery.—
Don’t fail to give him a call.
Splinters.—The handsomest eques*
trian in town is a young gentleman,
Roth by name.
The Mayor’s office is now one exclus

We shall keep a “hawk’s eye” upon
everything and everybody about town
in order that we may catch a fleeting
item for our readers. We shall keep a
striet look-out on the City Marshall, and
if he does not perform his duty to the
lettet, we go for him. If the Mayor
takes the big-head or epizootic and be
comes at all unmanagable, why wc shall
go for him too. If an Alderman thinks
that he is entitled to twice as much
sidewalk bccaitse of his office,, we shall
go for him also.
In fact we intend to be generally use
ful by having the streets kept clean,
and the lamps regularly lit, and all that
sort of thing.
If men quit their wives, or. vice versa,
we shall write about them poetically and
otherwise. If we hear of a man beating
his better-half into an Egyptian mam
my, we shalfbe delighted to discourse
on his meanness and cowardice in our
local department. But we haven’t room
to tell all that we intend doing.
In the meantime, our subscription
price is $3 per annnm, payable one-half
in money and the other in cash.
Simon A. Weil.—This merchant

is selling his goods off at .exceedingly
low figures, that is at cost, and in varie

fully setting forth the inducements he
is offering. * 9

_ 1SY3 is upon us. and I think every
man in Peeatur should begin the new
vear with a new set ol my splendid
harness. I have marked all my goods
down to the lowest notch. For instance.
I sell an $18 set of harness for $16. I
keep a stock of shoe leathers, beltings,
etc., that can't be beat outside of Sav
annah. to which 1 invite public atten-

The schedule I propose to run for
1873 is the CASH and nothing else.—
Cash or Its equiwalent is the only fuel
that will keep my moving.
