BRADF1ELD & GO-, Atlaifta, Ga.—Dear
Sirs'; I take KMfnre in stating that I have
used lor the last twenty years, the medicine
you are now putting up, known as Woman’s
Best Friend, and consider it the best combi
nation ever gotten. together for the disseases
for which it is recommended. I have been
familiar with the proscription both as a prac
titioner of medicine and in domest ic practice,
and can honestly say that I consider it a
boon to suffering females, and can but hope
that every lady in our whole land, who may
be suffering in any way peculiar to their
sex, may be able to procure a bottle, that
their suffering not only be relieved, but that
they may be restored te health and strength.
With my kindest regards.
I am respectfully, W. B. Ferrell, M.D.

but we consider the above amply sufficient

lage of the dead. With emotions of
sadness vte noticed Jhe many name
less mounds, falling tombs and slabs
of marb’e on which the dust of ages
had rendered the names and dales
almost illegible. Painful it is tc con
template how soon the departed- are
forgotten, and lamentable to feel
that perhaps ere another generation
cometh no trace will be lelt of our
last resting place. Many believe
that, pyramids, mausoleums, marble
shafts and sarcophagus are but sub
stantial proofs of the prid- and van
ity of man. The human mind re
coils with horror from the thought
of being blotted oat. from the tab
lets of memory, and desire to live in
this world after death in some shape
or form. Many strive, but aias ! a
few only attain the goal of earthly
immortality.

pel in some degree these sad re
flections. Quietus.

A Laughable Incident occurred
not many moons ago, to our fox
hunting barber Lewis Robb. Never
did mortal enjoy this sport with keen
er zest than he. And to indu’ge in
it, Lewis will back without fear, any
thing in the shape of horse-flesh.
Twas on a beautiful moonlit night
during the present month, that Lew
is felt a desire to hear the deep
mouthed hounds yell on sly Regards
track. The first thing to be done
was to get a horse. Alter trying
in vain he got a dim nutive sleek,
sly looking cuss ot a mule. They
had not journeyed far together be
fore the dogs ran upon a large “pos
sum.” Now, visions ot baked “pos
sum” and “tater” flashed through
Lewis’ inind, and bent upon the des
truction of the bead;. Alighting
from his mule, he had a knock down
argument with the animal. And well
knowing his cunning for feignin'
death, he cut a huge rail upon hi
neck,"planted one of his large boots
on it, seized the animal by the tail
and pulled and tugged with all his
pow'er to break its neck. Feeling
satisfied he had done the deed, th.
apparently lilebss brute was tied to
his saddle. And unconscious of im
pending fate he mounted. He had
not gone far before his little mu'e
appeared as it be'had been sudd n-
ly attacked with St. Vita’s dance,
madly, wildly capering all over the
wire-grass. Lewis bawled Vo! wo!
mule, but there was no wo. His
heels rapidly fan the air skywards
and.Lewis after a loity vault into the
air, lies on mother earth. The mule
runs through the saddle girth with
out unbuckling it, stops, S'orts and
views the situation. The rider rises,
does likewise. Sees his game run
ning away with his saddle. The
truth whs apparent. Mr. “Possum”
had feigned d'eatli until tired of rid
ing, he waked up, and in his endeav
ors to get away, commenced tickling
the mule under the short ribbs with
his short claws, resulting in a terri
ble fall to Le»is. He wasn’t taken
behind anymore, but turned lo-.se to
wander at his will, free of let* rhin-
derenee. Lewis swears that he will
never believe agdn in a dead “pos
sum.”
