Bull’s Worm Destroyer.
To my United States and World-wide Read
ers-:
I HAVE received U-rttmonlHls from profes
sional and medical men, as my almanacs anil vari
ous publications have shown, all of which are genuine.
The following from a highly educated and p ipuiar
phpdcian in Georgia, is certainly one of the most sen
sible commitnicati.inf I have ever received. Dr. Clem
ent knows exactly what he speaks »f, and his testimo

what the Doctor says of Bull's Worm Ae»tr y»r

wonderfully efficacious. It has not failed in » single
Instance, to have the wished-for effect. lam doing a
pretty large country practice, and have dall.t use for
some article of the kind. lam free to c< nfess that I
know of no remedy recommended by theablest authors
that is so certain and speedy in its effects. On thecon
trary they are uncertain in the extreme. My object
in writing you is to find out upon what terms I can
get the medicine directly from you. If I can get it
upon easy terms, I shall use a great deal of it. lan
aware that the use of such articles is contrary to the
teachings and practice of u great majority of the reg
ular line of M. D.’s, tut I see no just cause or good
sense in discarding a remedy which we know to he ef
ficient, simply because we may be ignorant of its com

I may be able to ' ommand—not hesitating because

Benton Barracks, Mo., April 80, 1866.
Dr. John Bull—Dear Sir: Knowing the efficiency
of your Sarsaparilla, and the healing and beneficial
qualities it possesses, I send yon the following state
ment of my case:
I was wounded about two years ago— was taken
prisoner and confined for sixteen months. Being
moved so often, my wounds have not healed yet. I
have not sat up a moment since 1 was wounded. I
am shot through the hips. My general health Is im
paired, and I need something to assist nature. I
have more faith In your Barsaparilla than in any thing
else. I wish that that is genuine. Please express me
half a dozen bottles, and oblige
Capt. O. P. JOHNSON.

P. B.—The following was written April 39, 1865 by
Mrs. Jennie Johnson, mother of Capt Johnson.
DR. BULL—Dear Sir: My husband, Dr. 0. S. John
son, was a skillful surgeon and physician in Central
New York, where he died, leaving the shove C. P.
Johnson to my care. At thirteen years of age he had
a chronic diarrhoea and scrofula, for which I gave
him yonr Sarsaparilla. IT CURED HIM. I have for
ten years recommended It to many In New York, Ohio
and lowa, for scrofula, fever sores, and general debili
ty. Perfect success has attended it. The cures effect
ed in some, cases oj scrofula and fewer sores were
almost miraculous lam very anxious for my son to
again have recourse to your Sarsaparilla. He Is fear

you for it. His wounds were terrible, but I believe he
will recover. Respectfully, JENNIE JOHNSON

White Wash.
White wash and fancy colored wash,
for out huildingss, fences, &c., that will
stand the weather, may be made as
follows—take, say, one bucket of un
staked lime, put into a tub or tight
barrel and pour into it, say two buck
ets full of boiling water, add t about one
pound or more of tallow and cover
tight, to keep the steam from escaping,
stir it and add a bucket of hot wuter
every ten minutes, until it is about the
consistence of cream. Any shade of
color to suit the fancy, may be made
by adding more or less of lamp black,
Spanish brown or yellow ochre, or a
mixture of any of these—previously
mixed to paste with a little water.
Ex-Gov. Neil S. Brown has intro

a minister.

“The British Quarterlies and Black

printed f. r the American public at a
price far below th t which our English
cousins are obliged to pay, and being
issued here at a very brief period after
their appearance in England, these
treasuries of literature deserve all the
patronage they receive; and we wish
they could l>e subscribed to by every
citizen and regularly read, for they
furnish a great antidote to the bane
of newspaper reading w hich is rapidly
injuring the minds of our people by
inducing them to rest contented with
the flippant style which is day by day
becoming the rule rather than tlie ex
ception to newspaper writing. Not
only this, but ire who would keep up
with the current literature of the world
must needs have the Reviews, for they
embrace in their range of criticism all
that in current literature really challen
ges the attention for merit. The com

OR
BLOOD CLEANSER.
This medicine is known to the faculty as
being the concentrated fluid extract of Sar
saparilla united with other valuable medi
cinal herbs, aud is guaranteed as chemical,
ly pure.
FOR THE CURE OF
Scrofula and Consumption.
This rmnedy is compounded expressly for
purifying and demising the blood of all in
firmities; going at once to the fountain-head
of disease. It extinguishes
Tumors, Consumption, Hyphillis, Nltln
Eruptions, Salt Khoniu, Rheu
matism, Waste of Vitality,
Scrofula.
We all know that the promiscuous vacci
natiou indulged in during the late war bred
the most villainous diseases. Vaccination
pus was taken from the arms of many per
sons full of scrofulous sores.
Then of coarse the impurities of the scrof
alous patient were absorbed in the blood of
men otherwise without disease, and both
became infected alik-j. Men, women an
children throughout all tho West are most
wofully diseased from this causa, and knew
not, until a few mouths ago, the origin of it.
