We have examined the public buildings of the
county and find them in good condition.
We have alao examined the books of the Clerk*
•f the Superior and Inferior Courts, and of the
Ordinary and county Treasurer, and find them
neatly and'correctly kept.
We find the Road? and Bridges of tho county
generally in bad condition, and recommend the
Inferior Court to have them put iu good repair
at a* early a period as possible, and we especially
call their attention to the bridge* on Pine Knot
Creek and the turn pike on Ncchilly Creek, also
the Bridge on the Upatoie, known ax Peggy
Read's.
In relation u> the Common School rystoui ad
opted by the last Legislature, we bsve hut little
to nay; we foci that we are not prepared to eou
ilo inn it. uud that we have nut time to devise a
plan to carry it into operation: wo therefore re
commend that Chattahoochee’* share of tha ap
propriation be emerged into the Poor School Fund
of the county, and that It lie paid out by tho Or
dinary under the law regulating that fund; and
reooutmend the Justices of the Inferior Court to
levy a tax of 25 percent, on the State Tax for
purposes, and that the Ordinary al
low the Justices of the Peace iu each District t >
for their service* in making out their lists of
poor children.
In concluding our labors, we tender most cor
dially our acknowledgements to his honor Judgo
Kiddoo and to CoL Win. K. Johnson. Solicitor
General for their uniform kindness and consider
ation to this body.
