A letter from Veuioeoftho lath of J uua. sftys
of the revolution there: —l* wax only. at eight

open to the public. Several shop* worv opWPjd*
but not until toward* twelve o’clock, Tire great
er number of the inhabitant* have remained iu
their houccs. The streetx are nearly deserted,
and a notice posted up. that no military events
have occurred except those announced in the of
ficial Oemetta, appears to have calmed the public
mind. The troops are confined to their barracks,
aod the theatres arc closed. A proclamation
front the municipality wus posted about six, re
questing the iobaldiants loheep the peace, and
cut theut not to renew the unt'orfunate

took refuge at Malaiuoive, have entered the port
of the Lido. The French *quadlvr., observed
with a te)esco|)e, appeared less numerous thU ul’

Mi'tatioss or Tint War.— The London New*

“The Kmpcrur of Austria is suddenly called to

made and unmade fast iu ibis Italian campaign.
The proclamation of Francis Joseph, announcing
that he took supreme command of the army, at id
would continue lha struggle at the head of his
gallant troops, was only issued at Verona the
Saturday before the great battle.and already that
Prince abandon* the seat of war. Gvulai, the
author of those threatening and formidable man

him from a position to which ho ought never to
have been raised. Meanwhile the Rower or of
the French, whoso carpet strategy was the jest of
the saloons of Vienna a month ago, is displaying
a genius for war which should stir up Europe to
remove the cause which keep open a field for its
exercise.”

OBITUARY.
Departed this life, at his residence, Marion Cos.,
Ga., June 28th, lbjy, Mosen H irvkv, aged 73
years, 2 months and 24 days.
Brother Harvey was a native of Georgia. In
ail the relations of life, a toots upright, honest
man, the writer has never known. Such were
his views of God's holiness and his own imperfec
tions, that he lingered many years in possession
of a hope in Jesus, Itefore uniting himself to II i*
risible Kingdom. Our brother's health declined
about five years before bis decease. His 10-t year
was fall of deep, sore alHiMion : but be endured
to the end, in the pure meekness and patience of
God’* people. Well can wc adopt the language |
of the sweet singer of Israel, “Precious in the
sight of the Lord is tin* death of His paints.”
Finally, we say to all bis family, relation?, and
friend?, imitate his virtue?, and follow him in bis
Saviour's footsteps: for soon wc must all follow
him to eternity.
