We Iqaro from the Houston Telegraph, of
the Iftth ult., that a bill has been introduced in
to the Senatorial branch of the Legislature by
John T. Harcourt, hsq., restoring the originnl
boundaries of tin- Slate. It declares that Tex
as yielded assent to the sell lenient of her
boundary because the question wui linked
with the series of measures composing the
compromise ot 1850, nnd for the sake of peace
♦ and the preservation of the Union. That the
United States hua been guilty of bad faith in
ult the qooetiefta embraced in the compromise
’ of 1860, resulting in the dismemberment of
that (or the sake ot which Texas wa
willing to sacrifice heir immense territory.—-
TlmlrTinally the United States has broken nnd
violated her part of the compact, and therefore
it is aiinulled and cancelled. The MU then re
asserts title to thoboundaries,embracing New
Mexico, fcc., nnd authorize* the Government
to take military possession.
The Telegraph'# correspondent soys the bill
meets with much favor and will probably
pass.
