CJhn. Gran’™ Macon Peace Orrsiusa,
—The feats t.f Postmastor Turner, were

The opinions of h-urnud men and dis

The formetf Iml-Js that the ret adjudica

take their seats, as it was in behalf of
tboso who succeeded them. And that
the Legislature did pass a resolution
solemnly pledging itself to abide by the
action of the Supremo Court on this
question/which though vcood by tbo
Governor nevertheless binds them inforo
Hmtcunt'a,
Tho latter frankly sustains tbo de
cision of tho Court, and says tho pres

right, to the negro to hold office. But
on the question of reseating the expell

should bo manifestly unjust, and indi

Mr. Stephens alludes to tho reported

Hut tho point arises, in ns much ns the

Wo uro aware that to the denizons of
the mountains and middle Georgia, this
entire region is regnrdod ns rife with
malarial exhalations, and well nigh as in
salubrious us the celebrated Politico
moisbes of Rome.
Fever and nguo aro considered in
digenous to tlio "oil, and n necessary
incumbrance to bo bargained for in its
occupancy. Tlio idea obtains very
generally also, that the face of the coun
try is a level plain permeated by slug
gish streams, and thickly covered with
ponds, mnrsbof, and death douling mo-
runsoA.
However remotely this description
may be applicable, to individual locali
ties, in raro and exceptionable portions
of counties which shall bo nameless, it
is now our purpose to show that the
very roverso is truo of Randolph Coun
ty, and a very considerable poriou of
the adjacent country.
Tho ruddy countenances, and vigo

present a palpable refutation to such a
theory. But wo proceed to disci ibo
tho situation ol tho City of Cuthbcrt

Tho nights are cool und invigorating,
and remarkably dry, and free from hu
mid exhalations. An abundant supply of
froo stoiio water drawn from wells vary,

lee unnecessary save ns an article of
luxury. Tho thermometer in tin* lute
