per, mix it thoroughly witli aqunrt of oil,
and rub the harness witli the mixture;—

and Hike from gnawing the harness^but
it will also prevent horses and colts from
chewing tlio lilies or halters.
Take' two quarts of green leeks, pour
over them one gallon of oil, and let itstand
a few days before using; tho longer it stands
the better. , ,
A little benzine rubbed over the harness
after it Irhfi been oiled is said to be a sure
preventive, but it Is not recommended by
many,/bn nccoimt of the idea that it in
jures the leather.
