COLD WEATHER RULES,
Never go to bed with cold or damp
feet.
Never lean with your back upon any
thing that is cold.
Never begin a journey until break
fast has been eaten.
Never take warm drinks and then
immediately go out into the cold.
Never omit regular bathing, for un
less the skin is in active condition the
cold will close the pores and favor con
gestion and other diseases.
After exercise of any kind, never
ride in an open carriage or near the
window of a car for a moment; it is
dangerous to health or even life.
When hoarse, speak as little as pos
sible until the hoarseness is recovered
from, else the voice may be permanent
ly lost, or difficulties of the throat may
be produced.
Merely warm the back by the lire,
and never continue keeping the back
exposed to the heat after it has become
comfortably warm. To do otherwise
is debilitating.
When going from a warm- atmos
phere into a cooler one, keep the mouth
closed, so that the air may be warmed
in its passage through the nose ere it
reaches the lungs.
Never stand still in cold weather,
especially after having taken a light
degree of exercise, and always avoid
standing on ice or snow, or where the
person is exposed to cold wind.
Keep the back, especially between
the shoulder blades, well covered; also
the chest well protected. In sleeping
'in a cold room, establish a habit of
breathing through the nose, and never
with the mouth open.
Imperfect digestion and assimilation
produce disordered condition of the
system which grow and are confirmed

Wonderful Stone Masons.
The old Egyptians were better build
ers than those of the present day.
There are blocks of stone in the pyra
mids which weigh three or four times |
as much as the obelisk ou the London
Embankment-. There is one stone, the
weight of which is estimated at 880
tonsr. There are stones thirty feet in
length which fit so closely together
that a penknife may be run over the
surface without discovering the break
between them. They are not laid with
mortar either. We have no machinery
so perfect that it will make two sur
faces thirty feet in length which will
meet together in unison as these stones
in the pyramids meet. It is supposed
that they were rubbed backward and
forward upon each other until the
surfaces were assimulated.—London

The following are a few of
the best physicians in Evansville, Ind.,
was treating me for a bad case of blood
poison. I did not improve to please
him or myself, either, and was on the
point of changing physicians, when I
was offered a place in Chattanooga.
In telling my physician good bye, I
asked him abont your medicine. He
hesitated a minute and then suggested
that I try it. Immediately on reach
ing Chattanooga I purchased three
bottles of Dr. L. H. Wilson, druggist.
I began to improve at once, and in six

am as healthy as ever. I am ready to
