Jeff. Davis Dollar.
The Cincinnati Enquirer has a
story from Columbus, O., telling
how F. C. Richter, a merchant of
that city, received in the ordinary
course of business the other day a
silver dollar bearing this inscrip
tion: . .
This Dollar was
Taken from Jeff Davis,
Pres’t. C. S., when captuied by
Cols. Prithard and Harden in
Georgia, April 9th, 1865.
Presented to
Wilbur Andrews McCoy
On his fifth birthday, Feb’y.
10th, 1866, by Ins
Father.
“It is believed by Mr. Ritcher,
says the Enquirer’s story, “that
the coin was put in circulation
accidently, or that it was stolen
from the owner. He will restore
it to the person to whom
rightfully belongs. The person
to whom it “rightfully” belongs is
Mrs. V. Jefferson Davis, since it
appears by the inscription to have
been stolen from Mr. Davis at the
time of his capture.

To the commissioner of gar

My Dear Sir, or Madam, or It
as the case may be:
I received the garden seed, and
should have acknowleged receipt
of same at the time of receiving,
but at first I lost some time in an
endeavor to ascertain whether or
not the seed was union made, and
after a few months of fruitless re
search on this line, I wasted a few
more months of the busiest fish
ing season trying to locate your
rating as to venacity, as my sus
picion has been somewhat intensi
fled by the non-appearance of
germination of said seed. It may
be the seed have not yet arrived
at the age of puberty. I planted
the seed during the moon season
and of course it whs not for lack
of moon that they have refused to
come forth. Aud same may be said
of soil and climate as we have an
abundance of the former both
stacked and spread out, and about
upon an average as much of the
latter as auy other section. The
refusal of said seed to come up
has prevented all unnecessary
embarrassment of a sudorific
nature. The peach crop here is
very good. Hope you are well.
I thoroughly worked the soil, as it
was the only place I could find
fish bait.

“After my first baby was born I did not
seem to regain my strength although the
doctor gave me a tonic which he consid
ered very superior, but instead of getting
better I grew weaker every day. My hus
band insisted that I take Wine of Cardui
for a week and sec what it would do for
me. i did take the medicine and was very

>wly returning. In two weeks i was out
of bed and in a month I was able to take
up my usual duties. I am very enthusi

Wine of Cardui reinforces the organs
of generation for the ordeal of preg
nancy and childbirth. It prevents mis
carriage. No woman who takes Wine
of Cardui need fear the coming of her
child. If Mrs. Unrath baa taken
Wine of Cardui before her baby came
she would not have been weakened as
she was. Her rapid recovery should
commend this great remedy to evefjr
expectant mother. Wine of Caraui
regulates the menstrual flow.
