PLANT COHN! GROW MEAT! GET BUSY!
This is some good sound advice offered by the Gainesville, Fla,, Board of Trade,
to the American farmer.
If the people will forget there is such a thing as a war in Europe, and will cease
talking hard times—in other words, merely give prosperity the slightest encour
agement—we can begin to appreciate the wonderful opportunity that is ours with
out the asking. -
Continuing, the live Florida organization speaks truthfully when it says: “Cut out
the war talk. Every day of destruction to human life and property piles up greater
future demand on our resources. American steel and structural iron works are
soon to be swept off their feet with foreign orders. The crops and livestock in
Europe’s warring nations will be gone. Us fellows must provide bread and meat
for these hundreds of millions of people. The world’s supply of Cotton Goods
will soon he exhausted, and we hold the key. Quit fooling yourself—Plant
corn, grow meat—Get Busy! ”
The above sums up the situation exadly. The American farmer is the mem who is bound to
profit financially as a result of the war. He can’t lose if he will manage his business right.
The undersigned Business Firms are eager to lend all assistance in their power
to the farmers. Many of them want to sell you goods, taking cotton at 10
cents a pound on new accounts. You are going to need fall goods. These
merchants have them in abundance—large and select stocks to pick from.
Come to Dalton and don’t leave before dropping in to see the undersigned busi
ness firms. Whether you want to trade or not, visit with them—it’ll be mu
tually pleasant and profitable.
