THE DALTON CITIZEN, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29, 1914.
The cold snap which came Tuesday morning presaged the nearness of winter.
It caught many unprepared—they were still wearing their summer apparel, and
they spent a wretched day. • ’
This touch of cold weather caused the wise man to begin to plan for the coming
season of show and" ice. Many dug their last winter’s garments out of the chest,
shook the moth balls out and made a hurried inspection. They wouldn’t do. It
was necessary to purchase more winter clothing, and so, picking out one or more
of the undersigned merchants who carry complete and fine lines of wearing ap
parel, for men, women and children, they hurriedly made their winter purchases.
They had the advantage of choosing from a choice line, practically unbroken.

our shells, let’s resolve to poke out our heads, twist them around and dig. It we
hold to the pessimistic theory, the country’s in terrible shape, but if we’ll rele
gate pessimistic pow-wows and operate optimism, backing it up with real work,
carried on with super effort, the country’s in fine shape, no matter what hap
pens hundreds of miles away from us. i
The undersigned merchants aire not kicking. They have confidence in the future. Join with
them. You need some goods—they can supply. You need them now. You can afford to buy
them, for the undersigned merchants have marked them closely. You get quality and quantity at a
low price by trading with them.
Any of them will be glad to see and talk with you, provided you taboo war talk and the growl
of imaginary hard rimes. They Eire willing and eager to meet you at least half way in anything
pertaining to business. Drop in and let them advise with you when you come to Dalton.
