We are having winter again—had
some snow Thursday, then a shower of
rain which melted the snow in the val

hills were white with snow. Saturday
night we had rain and Sunday was
cold.
We all had Sunday school at home.
Papa and I went to Sunday school this

it will regulate the liver, stomach and
bowels better than calomel, without
sickening or salivating you—16 million
bottles sold.

In memory of my dear grandfather,
Mr. Pleasant Wilson, aged 78 years,
7 months and 8 days. On Wednesday
morning, Feb. 9, at 5:14 o’clock, dear
Grandpa left this world on his way
to heaven. He had been sick almost two
years, but was confined in bed about
4 months.
Oh! how sad it is to go back to the
home and see the empty chair which
never can be filled.
Grandpa was a good Christian man,
and, I think, he did all that God re
quired of him, or He would not have
called him home when He did. Oh!
how sweet it is to know that Grandpa
is resting in the loving arms of Jesus.
The end came peacefully and calmly
without a straggle—just a falling to
sleep to awake on the evergreen shore.
He leaves to mourn his loss three
sons and three daughters, Messrs.
Charlie Wilson, of Arkansas; Pledge
Wilson, of Spring Place, and Doe Wil
son, of Phelps; Mrs. Lula Callahan, of
Dalton; Mrs. Frances Prichard, of Dal
ton, and Mrs. Addie Cooper, of Mari
etta; 22 grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren,. besides hundreds of
other relatives and friends. He was
laid to rest in Tilton cemetery, he be-
a member of the Tilton Methodist
church for several years.
Written by his granddaughter,
Exie Prichard, Rt. 1, Dalton.

think there will be a good many
melons planted here this year. I
think the cotton acreage will be cut
some, and I know the staple will be
cut, for the people are surely going to

We are using compost and cottonseed
for fertilizer.
I believe I will agree with the coun
board on the first count. If they
ould abolish a few more office-holders
may be our taxes would not be so
h. As for a farm demonstrator, I
think we need one or two in this coun
try. The people talk hard times. I
never saw better times for some people;
eggs are 20 cents per dozen here, and
you go to a cafe and call for an egg
Sandwich and it is 10 cents. What do
you call that? Cottonseed is $23.00
per ton and meal $40.00, and they
want $30.00 per ton for acid!
Our new neighbor, R. L. Dunn, is
liking down here fine and is working
like a white horse, too. He is farming.
I am glad the convicts are on the
Beaverdale road. I hope they will
make a good road up there and make
it a little wider than the old one.
