Mr. and Mrs. Ridley, of Murray county, attended services here last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Warmack, of Dalton, passed through our burg last Sunday en route to Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Lotspeich’s, in Murray county. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Dyer and fam ily, of Chattanooga, spent last Sat urday night with Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Vining. Mr. and Mrs. Bob McMahan and family and Mr. Dale Anderson, of Chattanooga, passed through our com munity last Monday on their way to Chatsworth. Next fourth Sunday, Rev. Green will begin his revival services at the Meth odist church here. Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Richardson and children spent last Sunday with Mrs. Richardson near Broad Acre. There is but little fruit around here. The berry crop is the main dependence this year. Sawmilling is still in full blast here —in fact, more sawmilling than farm ing. The ice cream festival, given for the benefit of the Baptist church Sat urday night, was enjoyed by a large crowd. Mrs. Leo - Baldwin has returned to her home in Chattanooga, after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs: H. B. Crawford. Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Messimer and family were visiting near Lee’s Chapel one day last week. Miss Polly Head has returned home, after spending a few days in Atlanta. Mrs. Lewis Rodgers was visiting in Atlanta last week. Mr. Andrew Maddox, of Dalton, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Norris Sunday. Mr. J. C. Cash and Mr. Arthur Bevil, of New Hope, were in the city Satur day afternoon. RESPECTED COLORED WOMAN DIED SATURDAY Fannie Glover (colored) died at her home on Emery street Saturday, June 25th. During her illness of more than a year much kind attention was given her by both white and colored people, thus showing the esteem in which she was held.
