T HE “charge-it” habit is keeping many
a working man’s nose t»n the grindstone.
It’s a bad habit because it breeds worry,
discontent and unhappiness.
You can be free of this.handicap if you
will follow a simple plan:
1st—Make up your mind to live for
a few weeks on 10% less than you
earn. If you earn $30.00, put $3.00
in the bank. You can do it!
2nd—Keep this up for ten pay days
and you will have the amount of
one pay check in the bank—velvet.
3rd—Then by careful buying for
cash you’ll live better on $27.00
than you did on credit for $30.00.
Pay yourself the balance. Put it
in the bank first, each pay day, be
fore you spend a dime.

On Sunday,, Aug. 14, as the night was
calm and peaceful, the angel of death
crept into the home of John F. Jones
and claimed him for his own.' After
suffering for several months, growing
weaker he quietly passed to his home,
to be with his loved ones, gone on be
fore.
'At the time of his death he was 87
years of age. He had spent the most
of his life in this county, coming here
from Tennessee when a boy.
He was a faithful member of the
Popular Springs Baptist church. Mr.
Jones leaves a number-of nieces and
nephews and a host of friends to mourn
his going away. Our loss is heaven’s
gain. His remains were laid to rest
in the Popular Springs cemetery, with
