We are all glad to. learn that Mrs.
Clint Vining’s condition is improving
after a severe attack of acute indi
gestion.
Mrs. W. P. Yates and children, John
and Frances, of Ringgold, spent the
first.of last week with relatives here.
Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Bryant? and son,
Glenn, have returned home after a
pleasant visit to relatives at Copper-
hill. Tenn.
Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Vining are on
the sick list this week. We hope they
will soon be well again.
Hope, and three deacons will also be
ordained with appropriate services.

MAKING GREAT PEPARATIONS
Memorial Service to Be Held Sunday,
September 25

in the history of the commandery.
Preparations are going forward for

ter of the Grand Encampment, will be
present with a number of his personal
staff and the Grand Prelate. Rt. Rev.
T rov Beatty, of the Grand Encamp
ment of the United States, will make
the memorial address. The Grand
Commander of the Encampment of the
state of Georgia. C. A. McAllister, with
his;b Staff of grand officers, will be
among the Georgia notables present,
also the Grand Commander of the
states of Tennessee and Alabama.

Johns Commandery, recently organ
ized is having rehearsals weekly so

trip to Cleveland Tuesday.
Mrs. Fannie Sandidge and son, Jew
el. visited Mrs. Stella Dunn, near Co-

Mr. Bill Workman, of Valley Head,
Ala., is visiting relatives at this place.
Mr. Lain Ovbey, of Murray, visited
Mrs. C. A. Workman Saturday.
Mr. Fred Crawford and wife are

Workman.
Mr. Wlalter Workman and wife, of
Cisco, are visiting relatives at this

The death angel visited the home of
Mr. and Mrs. George White and claim
ed for^his own their little infant, Mil
dred. She suffered from the Hnw God
put her here until He took her away.
Oh! it was hard to give her up; but
we know she is sleeping in the arms
of Jesus. She was ten months and
nineteen days old.
The interment was made at West
Hill cemetery. Rev. Josiah Crudup
officiating at the obsequies.
We are needing a good rain; the
roads are dusty: a good rain would
settle them, besides the other good it
would do.
Several from here went to Pleasant
Grove Saturday night, and all report
that they had” an interesting program.
