FARM BUREAU MEETING
HELD LAST SATURDAY
Future of Organization Depends on
What Develops
The Whitfield County Farm Bureau
held an interesting meeting last Sat
urday afternoon at the court house, at
which plans for the future were' dis
cussed.
No definite action was taken, this be
ing left until after the big meeting of
the Farm Bureau scheduled for the
middle of the month in Atlanta. Mrs.
M. E. Judd, ,who has been prominent
in the work of the State Farm Bureau
organization, will attend the meeting.
The question of a farm''demonstra
tion agent for Whitfield county did not
come up, this being left until after the
Atlanta meeting. Mr. Smith has about
completed his year’s work here, and
some definite action must be taken
within a short time.

NEXT MONDAY EVENING
Dr. McGaw Will Speak at First Meth-
dist Church
- One of America’s foremost patriotic
speakers, Rev. James S. McGaw, of
Pittsburgh, has been secured to ad
dress a patriotic mass meeting on the
subject “Saving the Soul, of Unde
Sam” in the First Methodist church
here next Monday evening at 7:30
o’clock.
Dr. McGaw is known as the I'r.ipid
fire civic evangelist,” and as such has
been heard from coast to coast as he
has traveled the country speaking
about problems relating to the moral
welfare of the country.
This meeting, is one of'a series be
ing held in this part of the state for
the purpose of arousing interest in
the suppression of some of the civic
evils.
Dr. McGaw-is general field secretary
of the National Reform association,
which is making an effort to secure
laws which are in accordance with
Christian principles.
DORT CAR SMASHED UP

Car Was Owned by Oscar Armstrong
—No One Injured
A Dort car owned by Oscar Arm
strong was totally wrecked by a south
bound Western & Atlantic train at
some time Sunday night on the Wil-
lowdale crossing.
Armstrong’s statement was that he
was driving the car and didn’t see the
approaching train until it was too late
to stop. Max Lochridge was with him
at the time. Neither of them was in
jured.
