what is true of Georgia is also true of
every state in the Union and every
province of Canada.
Tanlac has never been advertised as
a cure-all or that it would perform un
heard-of wonders. The advertising has
been clean, straightforward and con-
.servative. Actual facts and figures
have been stated in a true, business
like way that has commanded the con
fidence of all ih the conservative claims
set forth.
The enormous demand for Tanlac
is due to merit alone, for no amount
of advertising would continue to sell
any article that does not possess real
merit. Unless - full value underlays
People All Over Georgia
Want to Know What Is
Behind the Phenomenal
Success of This Prepara
tion That Makes It the
World’s Greate^ Tonic.
Drafter day tiie^qu.estion is being
asked 2 'all over Georgia: What is the
reason for the phenomenal success of
Tanlac? Why do we hear so much
about it? Why do Tanlac sales keep
increasing every year, when other med
icines seem to have a short-lived popu
larity and are then forgotten?
The answer is simple enough. The
test of time has proven to people all
over the American continent that Tan
lac always produces most gratifying
results and that the remarkable relief
it brings seems to be more permanent
ffran ever before believed possible.
Tens of thousands of persons, ev
erywhere, who took it when it was first
introduced six years ago, report that
they are still enjoying, excellent health
and millions of American homes are
now using Tanlac as^the family medi
cine after first trying it out thorough
ly and proclaim it the World’s Great
est Tonic.
Thousands of Georgia men and
women of all ages and in all walks
of life afflicted with stomach, liver
and kidney disorders, some of them of
long standing, as well as thousands
of weak, thin, nervous men and women
apparently on the verge of collapse
have testified publicly that they have
been fully restored to their normal
health, strength and weight by its use.
Still others, who seemed fairly-well,
yet who suffered with indigestion,
headaches, shortness of breath, dizzy
spells, sour gassy stomach, coated ton
gue, foulness of breath, constipation,
bad complexion, loss of appetite, sleep
lessness at night and terribly dejected,
depressed feelings, state that they have
been entirely relieved of these distress
ing symptoms and restored to health
and happiness by taking Tanlac. And
J. A. Carter, president; W. L. Mc-
has succeeded. People are always
willing to talk about their ailments,
;lad to tell
but they are more than
others of the medicine that helped
them.
It is something they could not
keep to ^themselves if they tried, for
the impulse to sympathize with your
fellownian and want to help him is
one of the strongest, as. well as one of
the biggest, things in human nature.
That is the reason why the people
of Georgia, as those of every other
section of the United States and Can
ada, have come to speak of Tanlac
as the World’s Greatest Tonic. And
that is the reason why the demand
for this remarkable medicine has
grown to snch proportions that it is
almost impossible to keep dealers sup
plied.

Physical examination of a boy to d
etermine whether his lungs are aff
ected by tuberculosis.. Physical ex
aminations, such as this woman is
undergoing at a clinic, are advised
for everybody as a first step to con
trolling tuberculosis.
If tuberculosis is discovered and
treatment begun early enough, it can
be cured. This has been established
as a fact by tbe experience in thous
ands of cases and over a long period
of years. The chief difficulty encoun
tered in anti-tuberculosis work is the
reluctance of persons to heed the dan
ger signals of tuberculosis in its early
stages and submit themselves for ex
amination by a competent physician,
so that they may be informed definite
ly of their condition and take steps to
rfemedy it.
A striking example of the difference
between the number of persons known
to have tuberculosis and the number
of cases actually existing, was brought
out in Framingham, Mass., the famous
health town. When the health demon
stration was begun there, only 27
known cases of tuberculosis were on
record. In the survey then'conducted,
223 additional cases were disclosed.
Since Framingham is a typical Amer
ican community, this wide discrepancy
between the number. of persons who
know they have tuberculosis and the
number who are suffering from the dis
ease but are not aware of its identity,
may be assumed to be a general and
not a local condition.
Tbe National Tuberculosis Associa
tion and its 1200 affiliated state and
local organizations are carrying on a
country-wide campaign of education to
show the necessity for providing clinics
where examinations may be made free
of charge for those who cannot af
ford to pay for them.
At present there are 545 tuberculosis
clinics and dispensaries in the United
anti^tuberculosis associations. This
number does not include traveling
clinics or intensive clinics designed to
meet an emergency and maintained for
a brief period of time to serve a par*
ticular purpose.
General education in regard to tu
berculosis and promotion of means
whereby it may be discovered early
enough. for successful treatment, are
phases of the work carried on by the
National Tuberculosis association and
its affiliated organizations. Funds for
this work are obtained from the sale
of Tuberculosis' Christmas Seals and
the Fourteenth Annual Seal Sale is
now being conducted and will continue
through the present month. Every
dollar's worth of seals you buy is a
blow aimed directly at tuberculosis.
Tbe Lesche club has charge of the
sale of seals In this city.
