Our prayer meetings will hereafter be held
regularly twice a week, Wednesdays and Sab
bath nights, and we do hope that our citizens
will take more interest in it in future than they
have done in the past. There is no reason
why we might not, in a town of three hundred
ini abitants. have a good congregation .twice a
week at prayer meeting, and we must be al
lowed to say that it is a crying shame that only
a dozen people should feel a sufficient interest
iu their souls’ salvation, to move them to go
up “where prayer is wont to 1 e made.” Come
out, friend's, if it does yon no good, it will do
you no harm, and it will at least encourage
those engaged in the work, if you will show
by ynur presence that their efforts are appre
ciated.

Good Liquors and Cigars, at
Charlie Murrell’s.
While walking down street the other morn
ing, we saw such a commotion in the “French
Store” we thought there must be a row of some
kind, and walked over, pencil in hand, expect
ing a good local item. When we arrived we
found it was Coleman opening out those new
goods of his, and the people were rushing to
and fro, admiring this, pricing that, and going
into perfect exstacies over the “love of a dress,
that b auty of something else.” while he was
up to his eyes in rolls of dry goods of the'most
beautiful designs, and busy as a bee in a tar
bucket, mm king them at low figures, and ar
ranging them in tempting array on ids already
well-filled shelves. We admired them awhile,
and walked away, satisfied that for anybody
\vl o wants bargains in nice goods, the “French
Store” is the place.

G. Coleman.
We call the attention of our friends in Tel
fair, who are in the vicinity of Mcßae, to the
new advertisement of L. McLean, in to-day’s
issue. He has new goads which lie is„offering
at low figures for cash. Give him a call.
