Wajrning.—We think the practice of
tin.' little boys around town flocking down to
t.ie depot at the arrival of every train and run
ning across the platforms, and getting in the
way oi the trains’ hands and every one else,
should be stopped. The parents of the com
ing generation should look into these things,
i'.nd try to see if a slight application of hickory
oil would sufficiently lubricate their joints to
make them run in some otlu r direction.

A Chase.—A few of our boys, headed
I'.Y one stranger, Frantl-'y bv name, enjoyed
themselves on Weduesday night of last week
in a Fox chase. The game was started in
hunt ot Mr. Julius Henman’s billiard saloon,
VVlls chased over near General Foster’s
mill, whore Mr. Brantk-y, being in the lead,
Teed the said .Fox under the General’s pump
trough. Not waiting for Mr. Murrell, who
v. as bringing up the rear, said Brantley begun
gi..billing for the said Fox, and in doing so
mrelessly mangled him to such an extent that

properly managed might have brought a fair

cave been unable to ascertain the full particu-
but such is the talk on the street, yet v e

mmeced with the story and chase, and we

levy, i-; we will inquire info the matter.
' Charlie Murrell is putting a coat of nice
white paint on his store house, what with this
end the various other changes made during
the past few days, the street is assuming quite
a business like appearance.
' r '"~ AY gat's the Matter ?—As we have got
our foot in it, by publicly announcing through
our columns that parties from Dublin going to
M eon could purchase full tickets for £4.50
via Eastm -II and Dublin Hack, we must l>c in
quisitive enough now to ask who fooled us to
such an extent, and if not who fooled us, who
f< Jed the citizens of Dublin, —or better still,
is anybody fool and, or is it in any manner
elm-gable to the carelessness of the travelers
themselves, as we ore repeatedly informed by
such that they invariably fail to come from
M icon to Eastman for less than the usual fare,
s:.()<% making it cost them home $5.50.
We have repeatedly tried to investigate this
m itt r on our streets, but have failed to elicit
any satisfaction, and feeding considerably inter
ested, especially since we learn that the fare
to Macon from Dublin via Toomsboro Hack
and Central Road is only $3.50, we have
unwed up the courage to ask “what is the
matter ?”
