IlAPrr End uf a Boys btuuu(K,b.—Tbe fol lowing story, related by a San FrancUco paper, I* full of romantic interest: Two years ago a widow of London apprenticed her only son to the captain of aD Euglish steamer plying between Londou and India. During sev eral trips made by the vessel the boy was very badly treated by the captain. Not long since the steamer came to this port, end while on the voy age the lad barely escaped being*killed by the captain. On more than one occasion simi lar treatment was extended to men of the crew, and duriug the stay of the vessel here several of the crew deserted, and induced the boy to leave al*o. One of the 6ailors whose sympathy had been engaged in the boy’s welfare, procured a home for him with a kind lady iu the southern part of the city. This lady has since provided for him, and has been a mother to him. One week ago she aaw a card in a newspaper asking for an errand boy at the drug store ot Messrs. Painter & Calvert, corner of Clay and Kearney streets. She brought the hoy to the store herself, and staled ttiat hi* circumstances and her relation to him, and she was ins’rueied to call at the store next day. He has beeu working there for the past week, and has attended to hi* duties so intelligently and faithfully that the proprietors have been highly pleased with him. Tue other morning he received two letter* Horn Londou —one irorn his mother, and another trom a lawyer employed by the executors oi his grandfather’s estate. These letters inform him that through the decease ot that relative he has b en made the sole heir of also inform him FORSYTH. GEORGIA. TUESDAY MORNING NOVEMBER, 18. 1873.
