We know the above statement to

(S. S. S.) The day we gave it to

upon his feet —had no use of his
limbs whatever. We make this
statement cheerfully, as the result

A few rears ago southwest Geor
gia tried truck farming, and failed,
because they sent Irish potatoes to
market about as large as partridge
eggs, and city people would not buy
them. Mr. Lewis Humph, of Hous
ton county, has made tnonoy already
tliis spring. As an experiment, he
planted less than an acre of ground
in radishes, to he shipped to eastern
markets- In less than ninety days
from the day he planted his seed lie
had shipped his crop and realized a
profit of nearly 8300, and now has
the same land planted in cabbage
plants. This shows what can be
done in truck farming in southwest
Georgia when properly managed.
This knocks the spots clear out of
cotton when it comes to cash.—
Montezuma Record.
We do not publish the above to
induce our readers to abandon their
regular crops and to go into the cul
tivation of radishes, for the world
can not live on radishes.
You no man, guard well against an
inclination towards idleness. If you
are not at present employed in busi
ness, engage in beautifying your
home by the cultivation of flowers,
or make yourself useful in garden
ing. Either occupation would prove
pleasant. And always take time in
which to read and study. The self
made men have made the country.
—Albany News and Advertiser.
W e heartily endorse the above
good advice and would, if possible,
impress it upon every young man
in the land, who has not regular em
ploy merit.

Georgia’s New Railroads.
Were the people to believe to be
true, all they read in newspaper re
ports. they would certainly conclude
that Georgia is soon to be a network
of railroads. Macon is connecting
iierseif by railroad to Covington.
Augusta says she must have a rail
road via Gainesville to Chattanooga.
Savannah is maneuvering and has
assigned contract for part of the
work on a direct line via Macon to
Birmingham. Atlanta is looking
with a railroad eye through Hawk
ingsvillo or Charleston seaward.
She wants to reach ocean navigation
by a road controlled by her own
citizens and as much as possible in
her own interest. Columbus is not
satisfied to remain a way station for
the great Central, and proposes to
cross these lines with the Geor
gia Midland, and go via Athens
when she visits the north. So the
present bids fair to become a year
famous for railroad building in our
state, at least theoretically.

years of age) have met with a remedy that
lias cured me entirely—made me anew
man. I weighed 128 pounds and now
weigh 146. I used thirteen bottles of the
medicine, and the only regret 1 have is
that being in the humble walks of life 1
may not have influence to prevail on all ca
