Horrible Accident in Which Two
Voung Ladies are Killed.
A most appalling calamity occurred at

Secretary Blaine.
A Y fuvhiugtou dispatch says: Attorney
General Miller, on Tuesday afternoon, re¬
ceived the report of District Attorney
Grant, at New Orleans, on the killing of
the Italians in the parish prison there last
month. He immediately sent the report
to Secretary Blaine, for whose use he said
it had been obtained. The secretary re¬
fused to give the report out for publica¬
tion or to indicate in any way the nature
of its contcots.
Von Moltke’s Funeral.
The funeral services over the remains
of Field Marshal Count von Moltke took
place at Berlin, Tuesday morning, in the
ballroom of the general staff building, in
which building the veteran died and
where his body has been 2ying in state.
Emperor William, the king of Saxony,
the grand duke of Baden, Saxe-Wiimar
and Hesse, the principal members of the
royal families of Germany, together with
the leading German generals, were
present.
Talmage’s New Temple.
Rev. T. DeWitt Talmage’s newMabcr
nacle, located at the corner of Green and
Clinton avenues, Brooklyn, N. Y., one of
the finest locations in the city, was
opened to the congregation and the pub
lic for the first time Sunday morning.
The building is 200x118 feet and Ro¬
manesque in style of architecture. The
church will seat 5,500 persons and cost
$450,000. During the day nearly $50,
000 was raised to take off the mechanic’s
lien. A debt of $200,000 remains.

The Cincinnati Express Crashes
Into a Freight Train.
An accident by which four persons
weae killed and several injured occurred
branch nesday afternoon on the Metropolitan
of the Baltimore and Ohio rail
Toad, near Gaithersburg, Md. The Gin
cinnati express ran into a freight train
which was at a standstill at a small sta
tion called VVarrings. Engineer Curtis
Elliot, of the express; Engineer Henry
Groff and Fireman Murphy,of the freight,
and a postal clerk, 8. G. Burdett, were
killed. Postal Clerk Peacock and Fire¬
man M. G. Miller, of the express, were
seriously injured. None of the passengers
were dangerously hurt.
