Answer.-T he insect .called the
Cabbage Plusia. It works great injury
to many garden.crops, but especially to
cabbages and turnips. The female moth
(dark gray in color, with a bright spot
near the mididle of each front wing,)
deposits her eggs either iugly or in
clusters on the upper s|j 'face of the
cabbage leaves. The eggs soon hatch,
and the young worms begi i at once to
devour the leaves and tc bore small,
irregular holes in the cabbogo head In
this section- there are sevei d broods of
this destructive insoct-eacl season. The
moths usually fly at nig O', but may
sometimes be seen flitting bout during
a cloudy day. To get ri'd < ’ them, dust
upon the plants pirethram, (insect pow¬
der) mixed with three tinu s its bulk of

spraying with kerosene mmlsion.—State

Question.— Are there an , plants pois¬

few plants that cannot be tudled with

Then there is the poison sumac, the sap
of which, getting on the, skin, will cause
painful blisters. Acme varieties of
mushrooms are also very poisonous,
even to handle and cause death
if eaten. There are quite a num¬
ber of plants that are poisonous if
eaten, and doubtless many mysterious
cases of death among cattle or horses
might be traced tc this -ause.—State
