SEVEN OAKS.
We have at last persuaded our
teacher to attend Mercer commence¬
ment and Alumni banquet, therefore
we are reveling in the joys of vaca¬
tion.
The Seven Oaks neighborhood has
been quite jolly for the past few
days.
We attended, last Friday night, an
ice cream supper m honor of George
Taylor and Cajah McCord’s birthday.
Unite a number of our neighbors
went picnicing Saturday a t Carstar
phen’s mill. The forenoon was spent
in exploring the mill and fishing, but
after a sumptous dinner the young
folks gathered in the mill where they
“trippecl the light fantastic” until the
sun was fast sinking. Every one,
old and young, voted the little picnic
to be one of the most enjoyable af¬
fairs they ever attended. A few of
the young people stopped at Mr.
Dame’s on their way from the picnic
where after partaking of a very nice
supper they repaired to the parlor
and spent a very pleasant evening.
Miss Birdie and Mae Fort, of For¬
syth, were the guests of Mr. S. T.
Dame Saturday night,
Mr. E. B. Taylor, while on his way

took to be a cow. He raised his stick
