To Out Good Friends and Patrons:
The fact that we are among the very oldest manufacturers of
commercial fertilizers in the South and stand at the top of the
list, means that experience, that dear teacher, has taught us
how to mix fertilizers to enrich your soil.
FURMAN on the outside of the bag means HONESTY and
FULL WEIGHT on the inside. We make different brands, but
only one kind—the BEST.
When you fertilize with FURMAN goods you know every
pound of plant food shown on the analysis is in the fertilizer
and ready to make your crops grow. They push the plant from
start to finish.
FURMAN HIGH-GRADE FERTILIZERS guarantee the
growth of big crops.
The cheapest fertilizers are the most expensive in the end,
for the cost of the fertilizers is insignificant compared with the
loss of a crop.
FURMAN FERTILIZERS are worth a little more in the
warehouse, but a great deal more in the field. A really high
grade fertilizer is a good, common-sense investment, but a cheap
fertilizer is an expense.
When you are ready for your fertilizers call on our agents.
If your nearest fertilizer agent doesn’t handle our goods, take
it up with us direct.

GRIFFIN DEFEATS FORSYTH.
The Griffin Boys Scouts “put one
over,, on Forsyth Friday, in an
interesting baseball game to the
tune of 20 toB. The game was
played in Griffin aucfowiug to the
tact that the boys were in hostile
territory and the constancy of the
rains has interfered with their
Spring train ng, it was not such a
bad game after all, not withstand
ing the score.
A story from Griffin says that
the pitching of Pat Powell was the
best ever seen on a local diamond ;
he fanned fifteen men and knock
ed two home runs.
On May 2d the Griffin scouts
are to invade Forsyth intending
to acd another scaly to their belts;
however, the Forsyth boys are
laying for them
Those playing were:- Scott Hol
land, Ike Maynard. Charles May
nard, Dan Smith, CLiftou Jossey,
Walter Floyd, Frank Lancaster,
Oscar Chapman, Lyle Hollis and
Tom Mays.
LESS BOWEL TROU-
BLE In FORSYTH
Forsyth people have found cut that
A SINGLE DOSE of simple buckthorn
bark, glycerine, etc., etc., as com
pounded in Adler-i-ka, the German
bowel and stomach remedy, relieves
constipation, sour stomach or gas on
the stomach INSTANTLY. This sim
ple mixture became famous by curing
appendicitis and it antiseplicizes the
digestive organs and draws off the im
purities. It is surprising how Quickly
it helps. The Red Cross Pharmacy.

MR. PERSONS ADDRESSES BANKERS.
Mr. R. T. Persons, President of
the Farmers Bank, attended the
Bankers Convention in Macon
Wednesday and was one of the
main speakers against the propos
ed new banking bill. It was the
contention of Mr. Persons that
the proposed bill was unnecessary
and contained no features not al
ready provided for by existing
laws.
FORSYTH BOYS HONORED.
The April number of “Boy’s
Life”, the magazine published by
the Boy Scouts of America, and
devoted to the interests of the
the scouts, contains the pictures
of two of Forsyth’s scouts, Assist
ant Scout Master C. F. Stuart and
Scout Cullen Goolsby. These two
Forsyth Boys,with one scout from
Michigah and one from Maryland,
were the four who had, since the
March issue of the magazine, at
tained the rank of Eagle Scouts.
Messrs. Stuart and Goolsby were
the 22nd and 23rd in the United
States to attain this honor, on; of
an army of 300.000 scouts; and
when it is remebered that before
this honor is conferred the scouts
must be proficient in 21 out of the
56 prescribed subjects, it is a most
creditable showing.
Forsyth is proud .of her scouts
and justly so.

man, has been invited to deliver

ing news to the people of Forsyth
to whom Mr. Bealer is well and
favorably known. Indeed, Forsyth
claims an interest in Mr. Bealer,
since his wife was a former resi
dent of Forsyth and it was here
that they were married.
The annual commencement ser
mon will be nr cached by Dr. John
L. White, of the Vineville Baptist
Church, of Macon, on Sunday,
May 25th Mr. Bealer’s address
will come the next day.

Fraud Paint.
The worst mistake one is likely to
makein painting is wrong paint: it is
easy to make.
We all say “Ours is the best;” and
there are 1000 of us. One is best: and
a dozen are so near on a level that no
one knows, for sure, that his is the one.
The worst paints are worst liars; .hey
know what they are, put-on a bold face
and brazen it out.
Their one true argument is low price;
but-low price paint is always must be, a
frand; it is made to cheat cheatable
people. DEA OE

I Land Value Almost Doubled I
_ HEN a Lee county, Illinois, farmer
TWA bought a run down 400-acre farm,
LxJW* his neighbors thought he had made a
IwOR bad bargain. After three years’soil
1.71 treatment by scientific methods, he
raised more than eighty bushels of corn to the
acre on land that produced less than thirty
bushels the first year he farmed it.
It is no longer unusual for us to get reports i
from farmers who have been using manure y;
spreaders consistently for periods ranging from Sy
; three to five years, to the effect that their land ??
is regularly raising so much more produce that ;
the value of the land is almost doubled.
| 1 H C Manure Spreaders |
are made in various styles and sizes to meet
all conditions. The low machines are not too
low to be hauled, loaded, through deep mud or
snow. IH C spreaders are made with trussed
steel frames in wide, medium and narrow
styles; all of guaranteed capacity. There are
both return and endless aprons. In short,
| there is an I H C spreader built to meet your
conditions and made to spread manure, straw, Ss
lime, or ashes as required.
I H C spreaders will spread manure evenly p
on the level, going up hill, or down. The
wheel rims are wide and equipped with Z-shaped
lugs, which provide ample tractive power. The
rear axle is located well under the body and
carries most of the load. The apron moves ®
on large rollers. The beater drive is posi
tive, but the chain wears only one side. The
I H C dealer will show you the most effective
