Johnson were happily married at the
home of the bride’s parents Sunday,
April 13. They received many hand
some presents from their many friends.
We wish them much joy and happiness.

Rev. B. L. Heneely married a eouple
in the road Sunday afternoon. Their
names were Miss Lillian Brooks and
Mr. Herschel Harper. We wish them
much joy.

Moore from Cork attended the mar
riage of Miss Pearl Lunsford and Mr.
Dozier Johnson Sunday P. M.

again. But she is still living yet.

attended preaching at Mt. Vernon Sun
day.
Mr. Jesse Stuart spent Sunday with
Master Hollis Smarr.

The many friends of Mr. A. A. Cham
bliss will learn with sorrow that he has
declined the idea of farming and will
make his future home in Texas.
Mr. Chambliss was born and raised
in Monroe county and has many friends
throughout the county. Mr. Chambliss
at present is J. P. of Middlebrooks dis
trict. lie was secretary of Bolingbroke
Lodge F. & A. M., No. 551, last year,
and it is useless to say that we hate to
give him up.
It is a heart rending scene to talk
with Mrs. Chambliss, the mother of A.
A. Chambliss, and hear her tell how
badly she hates to leave her home that
she loves so well and to leave her
friends and relatives behind.
But she is a bright Christian woman,
always looking at the bright things
of life, and for the welfare of her
only son.
And to Arthur I want to say: May
the God of Abraham, and the God of
Isaac be with you, on this rough and
ragged journey.
On account of sickness in the family
of our pastor, Rev. J. J. Pharr, he could
not be with us last first Sunday. Rev.
C. A. Kimball delivered a very able
address to a large congregation.
Sunday School and prayer meetings
are coming O. K.
A movement is on foot to move Bo
lingbroke F. & A. M. to a more favor
able point.
A Mr. Taylor of Popes Ferry was
seen in. our county last week with one
of our misses.
Mr. W. G. Tarpley went up to Grif
fin today to spend a few days.
Mr. R. F. Caldwell is on the sick
list this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hanes are vis
iting Mrs. C. A. Kimball this week.
Say ,M. A. C. ’s, how about having a
barbecue this summer and having our
editor with us. He could tell us a
Whole lot.
Mr. McCord’s letter that appeared in
last week’s paper was simply fine.
Come again, Mr. McCord, we like to
hear from you.
You still have friends in old Monroe.
I will close by asking some of the

the birth of a fine girl.

urday evening with Mrs. S. Snead.
The people around here are hauling
guano.
